I think about the kind of man my little boy will become, and it makes me pay attention to the little things I say, the way I listen, and how I respond when his emotions are bigger than his words. I want him to know that tenderness is not something he has to outgrow, and that needing comfort does not make him weak. I want home to be the place where he never has to earn affection or hide the parts of himself that feel messy or vulnerable. Maybe someday he will carry these lessons into friendships, relationships, and fatherhood of his own, and I hope he remembers that being gentle, honest, and caring was always safe in our home. For now, I’m simply grateful I get to love him through every stage. ❤️
