Sometimes the strongest next step is simply admitting the marketing is no longer working the way it used to.

You might be operating off of the old playbook. In walks AI, and you're not sure which direction to proceed in.

Simply noticing the gap is already progress.

From there, small, consistent alignment across messaging, presence, and systems compounds quickly.

Permission to stop forcing what no longer fits is powerful.

If you want to see if you're building on solid ground or need to lay a better foundation first, I've created a quiz to help.

You can take it here: https://moremeaningfulmarketing.com/quiz

You do not have to handle the marketing yourself to have marketing that still feels like you.

Many women hit the point where DIY is no longer sustainable.

Hiring support can feel risky, especially if you've had a bad experience.

Will they get the brand? Will it still sound like you?

The right support removes the daily burden and keeps the marketing true to your voice.

Would it help to talk through what that could look like for your business?

Your business is operating at a higher level than your marketing.

When that gap widens, it costs trust, opportunities, and energy.

People feel the mismatch even if they cannot name it.

The answer is not more hustle.

It is aligned ex*****on that matches the quality of the work you already do.

Which area of your marketing would you want to level up first?

The fear of being judged for “doing marketing wrong” keeps more capable women stuck than almost anything else.

You are not lacking ideas. They probably even keep you up at night.

You are protecting yourself from looking inconsistent or less polished than you actually are.

That caution makes sense, but it also costs you.

Authenticity does not mean forced vulnerability. It means clarity that matches who you are now.

What holds you back from updating how you show up?

Have you looked at your marketing and thought, “This doesn’t feel like me anymore”?

Your business has grown, your standards have risen, and yet the marketing is still stuck in an earlier version of you.

That is not failure; it's a sign you have outgrown what used to work.

What is one part of your marketing that no longer matches where your business is now?

Got to hang out with Zippy and the team at the University of Akron Research Foundation for their I-Pitch Competition, where innovators shared their products, what they learned during the program’s customer interview process, and their go-to-market strategies.

It was exciting to learn more about industry gaps and how AI is influencing how we can leverage and maximize data.

Two $1,000 prizes were awarded to program participants to support their continued business efforts.

If you’re an entrepreneur or community member with an idea you want market feedback on, you already have a business, or would like to be a mentor, check out their programming.

This office has had many versions over the years.

It has been a nursery for my daughter.

Became an office and a playroom for both of us.

Became a place for my son and daughter to dance, listen to music, and do homework.

It turned into a bedroom for my niece while she stayed with us.

When my son went off to kindergarten, I realized it was somewhat the end of an era, and it was time to give myself the space I've always dreamed of.

And now has turned into my own personal sanctuary where meaningful work gets done every day.

You know how they say, "Never mix business and pleasure"?

Well, after my recent experience, I both agree and disagree. Here's why.

Several years ago, an old friend of mine was looking for admin-related work. I just happened to meet someone who was looking for this kind of support, so I connected them with someone.

They worked together for a couple of years, and it just wasn't working out anymore. I saw the work that my friend was doing, and honestly, I could have used some of that support for my business as well, so I hired her.

We made incredible strides during our 2.5+ years together.

As life and work ebbed and flowed, we adjusted, but we just kept hitting the same wall.

I was afraid we were going to crash and burn. I think we both were. I felt that I was going to lose someone who was very near and dear to me, both as a friend, a person, and an asset to my business.

I did some real soul-searching.

She started her own business while working with me, and I totally supported it, but we couldn't really tell where the line was between what she did for her business and what she did for More Meaningful Marketing.

And I felt like the only reason to still have a friend was to rearrange the way we were working together.

She was fiercely loyal to me, and I to her, and I knew this would be painful on both sides.

I came to her and said, I've done some thinking. I think it's time for you to turn me into your client.

We have a little over a month to get reorganized. By the end of next month, I want you to send me your contract, your invoice, and your expectations of me.

We will retire your email with More Meaningful Marketing, and from then on, you'll email me from your business's main email.

I'll sign on with you for 3 months until we find our footing. I'll be your first retainer client, and I'll pay you more than you make now for less time.

After we find our groove, we'll talk about how we can continue to support each other in the future. It will give you the space to continue building your business and the stability to ease your mind some in the process.

I knew it was risky, but I also knew it was what we both needed to thrive individually and jointly, and, more importantly, to remain friends.

There was some distance, lots of 'figuring it out', but we've stayed connected in business and in friendship.

She is well on her way, and I'm really proud of her and the guts I know it takes to build what she's building with The Steady Desk Co. Virtual Assistant Services.

Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.

That doesn't mean it's wrong.

Take the risk.

Care about people.

Everything else is figure-out-able.

Last weekend, I went to see two of my clients at a local festival.

One from my business's humble beginnings and the other as a referral now that I'm more established.

It was the 6th day, a weekend day, of that show, and I felt like the odds were stacked against me.

We had church. I didn't want to miss. We had school starting, soccer starting, multiple open houses, multiple start dates, and juggling multiple client projects.

And somehow, on that last day, I showed up smiling and made purchases from each of my clients, but the kids weren't holding up. We went home almost immediately after driving an hour after church to get there and even attending the early service so we could make it.

And that first client, the one I told you about, who was with me at the beginning and has stayed in touch ever since, that referral came from her.

When I saw her in person, I said, "Thank you so much for referring your friend to me. She's amazing. Everything's looking really good, and things are going well."

And she said, "I'll always refer you because no one can beat you on commitment.”

And I've been thinking about that ever since.

She didn’t say price.

She didn’t say expertise.

She said COMMITMENT.

As business owners, we look through a lens of trying to understand what our unique selling proposition is, what it has taken for us to get here, and what has contributed to our success.

If for me, if it’s my commitment to my clients, my family, my marriage, and my goals, I think I can stand by that. 🩷
