Attorney General is taking Trump’s Dept. of Education to court over $165 million in frozen school funds.

The DOE blocked key K-12 funding just hours before it was set to arrive—jeopardizing teacher support, after-school programs, and services for students.

“This money is essential,” said State Superintendent Mo Green. “Hundreds of jobs and thousands of students are at risk.”

“Without the nearly $169 million in supports that these grants fund, some of our most vulnerable students will lose access to critical academic resources," North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction Maurice “Mo” Green said in a written statement to WUNC. "This includes students who face unique educational challenges such as frequent moves, poverty and the need to acquire English as a second language."
