Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal (https://portal.issn.org/resource/ISSN/2822-4353) is pleased to welcome Dr. Pede I. Casing as a member of the Scientific Committee.
Dr. Pede I. Casing, LPT is an Instructional Leader Level III-A, mathematics educator, and researcher with over 17 years of teaching experience in both the Philippines and the United States. He currently teaches at Alamogordo High School in New Mexico under the Alamogordo Public Schools District, where he also serves as a mentor, math coach, and after-school tutor. His dedication to quality instruction and curriculum development earned him the role of Review Team Leader for Mathematics Instructional Materials at the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematical Sciences with a major in Mathematics Education. He also earned his Master of Arts in Education with a major in Mathematics, and is currently pursuing another Master of Arts in Education with a major in Special Education.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, Dr. Casing developed and implemented the PEDE Instructional Model (PosingβExploringβDoingβEvaluating), which enhances student engagement and mathematical creative thinking. Dr. Casing is also an active presenter and speaker at major national and international conferences. He presented at the 2024 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Conference in Chicago, Illinois; the 7th Alamo Educate and Innovate 2025 in New Mexico; and earned the Best Presenter Award at the International Research and Education Conference (IREC) 2024 in New York City. He is also a Peer Reviewer in research journals, including the Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal (PEMJ). Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Casing is a winning coach for student teams competing in the Technology Student Association (TSA) and HOSAβFuture Health Professionals. He is also the author of books on Statistics and Probability.
Dr. Casingβs outstanding contributions to education have earned him several national and international recognitions. He was awarded Outstanding Teacher and Researcher of the Year 2021 during the Second Instabright National Awards for Educators, rank 1 Outstanding Teacher of Zamboanga Sibugay 2023, and International Teaching Service Ruby Awardee during the IREC 2024, awarded by the Association of Filipino Teachers and Educators in America, Inc (AFTEA). His work in inclusive education and research-based instructional practices continues to impact learners and fellow educators alike. Guided by his belief that βattitude matters most,β Dr. Casing remains committed to transforming mathematics education through innovation, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
