🎉 BIG shoutout to Patrick Maynez for making a BIG move for his family! 🎉

Patrick recently purchased life insurance to protect his children and their future. ❤️ Life insurance is one of those things we hope our families never need, but having it means that if the unexpected happens, his kids have financial protection in place to help with everything from everyday expenses and housing to their future goals.

As a real estate agent, Patrick is self-employed and doesn’t automatically receive the life insurance and employee benefits that often come with a traditional job. That means protecting his family is something he has to intentionally put in place himself — and he did exactly that. 👏

Some places are worth a sudden U-turn.

Restaurant Blitz Monday is pointing you toward Umami Rice Balls this week.

This spot keeps things fresh and simple. Hand-pressed rice balls wrapped in crisp nori, hearty rice bowls loaded with chicken, veggies, and house sauces, and tea that makes a quick stop feel like a real break. Grab something to go or settle in for a slow lunch. Either way, the flavors are new for this town, and locals are catching on fast.

One customer said she and her husband made a rapid U-turn when they spotted the open sign, and they were glad they did. She ordered the salmon ball, he went with the tuna, and both are winners. She mentioned the friendly service and how clean the place was, then said she would be back.

Find them at 415 S White Sands Blvd in Alamogordo, open 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday through Monday and closed Tuesdays.

We have exciting but sad news, sad because we are losing a great team member, who came in at a time when we really needed her, jumped in and was amazing at what she did! But exciting because she is furthering her education, and found a position that aligns with her schooling. We will truly miss Cassidy’s energy and the life she brought to the office.

Life insurance is one of those things people put off. It feels complicated, or like something to handle later.

We understand. Nobody wants to sit down and think about not being here.

Some sandwiches need two hands and a plan.

Restaurant Blitz Monday is sending you to Brown Bag Deli this week.

This locally owned deli keeps things simple and does everything right. Boar's Head meats stacked on homemade French bread, homemade soups, fresh salads, and house-made green chile that gives every order a New Mexico kick. The signature sandwiches come out hefty enough to slow you down, and regulars keep coming back for the steak sandwich and the corned beef Reuben.

One customer said the sandwiches are huge and worth the price, then called out the whole pickles as the best ever. When the pickles get their own shoutout, you know the kitchen pays attention.

Find them at 900 Washington Ave in Alamogordo. Lunch rush gets busy, so call ahead at 575-437-9751 if you are short on time.
