UPDATE: as of 1:30PM the road has been cleared and the monument is back on regularly scheduled hours and will close at 4:00pm

Due to a rockslide on NM15, the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is closed until the rockslide is removed. We are working with the state to get a road crew out to the dwellings to clear the road. We will provide an update once the road is cleared.

The visitor center will remain open.

The New Horizons Dome Theater and Planetarium will be closed for upgrades in all our systems. We aim to offer museum visitors an immersive, excellent, and technologically advanced experience through our upgrades, and we are excited for you to experience them. All aboard for a piece of local history. For over 30 years, the Toy Train Depot has been a beloved part of the Alamogordo community, welcoming visitors to ride the miniature train and explore the museum filled with model trains, railroad artifacts, and interactive exhibits.
