Reflecting this, our "Redux” series honors landmark albums from artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix, Helmet and Pink Floyd, re-imagined for MER by the likes of Matt Pike, Mark Lanegan, Pallbearer, The Melvins and Zakk Wylde, and is as critical to our identity as our roster of ambitious up-and-coming acts like White Nails, Leather Lung and Caustic Casanova. Our 2025 release slate was a staggering mix that included killer Redux installments dedicated to The Ramones and Nine Inch Nails, massive reissues of Domkraft's debut EP and the 25th Anniversary re-release of Solace 'Further', the latest slab of legend worship from Zakk Sabbath, and our first collaboration with Nuclear Blast on the new mini-album from Gaupa... but the beating heart of it all was the quartet of new albums from our roster bands HOWLING GIANT, LO-PAN, BRONCO and FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS 🔥👀🎸If you want to understand who this label is and what we do, look no further than the brilliant spectrum of heaviness encompassed by our label bands, the endlessly exciting force that drives us to do what we do! 💪😎

As you reflect on the music that made the biggest impression on you in 2025 ,we doubt we have to remind you of HOWLING GIANT's psych-metal space-prog epic 'Crucible & Ruin' and the way our lads from Nashville brilliantly and effortlessly blend staggering hooks, light speed anthems and blistering chops 🪐🎸 It's a rare band who whips out track after track that are infectiously singable and at the same time almost impossible for anyone else to play (let alone write) 👀🚀 We know we're preaching to the choir when we suggest these guys will probably lead your year-end best of rankings, and deservedly so.

Has it been a day or more since you last blasted this beast? Time to dive back in 💪

Filled with pride at the number one spot on the October Doom Charts going much-deservedly to our own HOWLING GIANT and their breathtaking new slab of cosmic riff-metal 'Crucible & Ruin' 💪🎸🪐 These guys just do not stop growing and getting better, which is saying a lot given the heights where they started!

Cheers also to BLUE HERON landing in the top 15 with 'Emulations' - a hell of a showing for the desert rockers' latest record especially with it not being a proper album 😳🌵🤘

Overwhelming congratulations to our own HOWLING GIANT on the official worldwide release of their new album 'Crucible & Ruin,' which is live in full on all digital platforms today and in stores across Europe and North America 💪🪐🔥

We've been with these outstanding dudes in one form or another pretty much since they got started, welcoming them to many of our earliest Redux Series releases and bringing them fully on board the label for their last record and first European tour in 2023 😎 Their work ethic and commitment to elevating their craft and taking their music to every corner of the world, no stage too big or too small, has kept us relentlessly dedicated to helping push them forward, and we couldn't be more blown away by the landmark musical leap of this new LP 😳🚀

Cheers and horns up to Adrian, Seabass, Tom and Zach on everything you've done to get here and everything we know is coming right around the corner to take you guys to greater heights - we'll be right here with you! 💙

We are overflowing with pride and excitement to announce our signing of Australian psychedelic stoner doom outfit JACK HARLON & THE DEAD CROWS to a multi-album deal 💪🎸🔥 The exceptional Melbourne, Victoria band are preparing to release their upcoming fourth full-length via Magnetic Eye early in 2026, with more detail details coming soon 👀

From the band's singer/guitarist Tim Coutts-Smith: "We are beyond excited to be jumping on board with Magnetic Eye Records. I discovered the label after buying their 'Electric Ladyland Redux' over a decade ago and was blown away by how well all the featured bands interpreted the Hendrix sound. I began collecting more of their Redux albums, and never in a million years did I think that our band would ever be featured on one of them, let alone end up signing to the label that releases these beauties! Unreal!"

MER Label Director Jadd Shickler adds: "Jack Harlon's 'Hymns' album caught my attention immediately for its unique blend of fuzzed-out stoner rock and pummeling doom with this twanging Morricone-esque swerve into old western scores. I can't say if their music really is the soundtrack of the Australian outback or if I'm just making this up in my head because of where they're from. Either way, there's an exotic quality to how they approach massive riffs and dreamy psych, which to me sounds like a blend of Afghan Whigs and Monster Magnet with swirls of Church of Misery and Nick Cave. I've had the pleasure to work with them on a couple of one-off projects already, so welcoming them fully onto our roster alongside their regular AUS tourmates Greenleaf is something I've been pursuing for some time. We can't wait to share and elevate their new music to every nook and cranny of our beloved scene!"
