Reflecting this, our "Redux” series honors landmark albums from artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix, Helmet and Pink Floyd, re-imagined for MER by the likes of Matt Pike, Mark Lanegan, Pallbearer, The Melvins and Zakk Wylde, and is as critical to our identity as our roster of ambitious up-and-coming acts like White Nails, Leather Lung and Caustic Casanova. Big news from MERHQ today! We are st**ed as hell to welcome heavy psych rockers BLACK LUNG to the label 🤘🎸 The Baltimore rockers have signed a multi-album deal with Magnetic Eye Records, and we'll be releasing their upcoming fifth full-length in early 2026 👀🔥

"We're thrilled to join the Magnetic Eye family alongside many bands we already know and respect", vocalist and guitarist David Cavalier writes on behalf of the band. "The label has been on our radar for awhile, as we've watched their importance in the heavy music scene grow over the years. But it was last year when we toured with Howling Giant, who really sang the label's praises on a personal level, that we decided to propose a partnership. The next album is near and dear to our hearts, and has been ripped screaming from our souls. We trust in Magnetic Eye to do it justice with their release."

Label Director Jadd Shickler adds: "Earlier this year, a trusted colleague mentioned that Black Lung might be looking for a new record label to call home. I thought for a moment, checked the downloaded tracks on my iTunes, and confirmed that I'd been carrying their song 'Voices' around for six years through multiple phone upgrades. It was firmly residing on one of my melancholy heavy playlists, fitting perfectly next to songs from YOB, Mark Lanegan, Torche and ISIS, among others. So, Black Lung is ready for a new label? Well, we're ready for them too! And I can hardly wait to reveal their amazing new record to the world in 2026."

BLACK LUNG have also been announced as one of the headliners at the Subscape Festival in Baltimore, MD this October. Join us in welcoming them to the roster and get ready for a transcendent new record from these guys coming your way soon!

As we head into the final few days of this Kickstarter campaign for our latest Redux release dedicated to the industrial rock icons, we continue to be floored and excited to see such an outpouring of reverence for what they've meant to the past three decades of heavy music. We can't wait to begin sharing music during the coming months, and we're grateful to every backer who has demonstrated their trust and enthusiasm for our Redux Series and decided to embark on yet another journey of tribute and re-imagination with us.

Also, a quick thanks to all the artists who are taking part and to all the supporters who've pledged to the project, making it our most successful Redux Kickstarter ever, passing the Jimi Hendrix/Electric Ladyland Kickstarter for the first-ever MER Redux project early this week (and we still have a few days left to go).

We're one week away from the end of our campaign to spread the word and excitement on our upcoming Redux Series installment in homage to the singular Nine Inch Nails, and the response has been pretty staggering. We're coming up on this being one of the most successful Redux Kickstarters since the label began over thirteen years ago, which tells us that you dig what we're doing and clearly we all absolutely love Nine Inch Nails.
