A team of Albany County legislators led by Mickey Cleary and Ryan Conway have registered for D**k for A Cure pickleball tournament; Guilderland High School staff have signed up and a team from Pickleball Galaxy. The early bird deadline for the pickleball corporate/community team challenge ($100 off the registration fee) ends on MONDAY so sign up now. Photos and medalists from the Little Turkey divisions at the Thanksgiving at Emma Willard School. These kids slid across the gym floor, hit the shot, popped back up and continued the point - definitely not something you typically see on the pickleball court. These kids were solid players. I look forward to see them on the court for years to come.

The Thanksgiving at Emma Willard School pickleball tournament for women was a ton of fun.

Players donated a whopping four carloads of clothes and food to the Joseph House and Mount Ida Food Pantry in Troy, N.Y.

The Thanksgiving at Emma Willard School Pickleball Tournament for Women starts tomorrow in Troy. Stop by and see the action. The Stretch Zone will be there along with representatives from a new pickleball venue coming to East Greenbush. Check out the image for the full list of competitors.

There will be a raffle, food drive and winter coat collection to support Mount Ida Food Pantry and Joseph's House and Shelter in Troy. You will receive an arms-length of raffle tickets if you bring a box of food or bag of coats/winter sweaters.

Raffle items include Caren's stained glass creations, Nora's handmade mittens, PickleballGalaxy gift certificates, Hoffman Car Wash gift certificates, Emma pickleball T-shirts, private lessons from local instructors including Gina Cornell-Family, Mary Pat Knepper, Kayla Benner and David Greene and other pickleball goodies.

LADIES: The Early Bird registration discount for the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving at Emma Willard Women's Pickleball Tournament ends tomorrow on Halloween night. If you have never entered a tournament, this is a great first tournament. There are age divisions (Under 50, Over 50 and Over 60) and plenty of skill levels which means that will be competing against your peers. 5 p.m.: Big Turkey & Little Turkey event
Women partner with their favorite kid (any child age 13 and younger) to compete in a fun round-robin with prizes. Three divisions: 1) beginner 2)intermediate and 3) Two Littles. Registration for the Big Turkey & Little Turkey is separate.

SUNDAY, Nov. 24

A 2-hour delay from wet courts didn't dampen the fun at the Bethlehem Pickleball Tournament on Oct. 5. We had 150 players, 78 teams, played 195 games and awarded 78 medals. Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. raised more than $23,000 to benefit the town's older adults.
