This month's setting is Pyron, which is a backwater human colony world in the Second Golden Age. The Golden Ages are times when civilization has moderate to significant travel between planets. The Second Golden Age is, well, the second time this has happened, rebuilding from the ruins of the First Golden Age.

While the First Golden Age was a high tech sci-fi setting, the Second Golden Age mixes science and fantasy. Lost technology is confused for magic. Alien species are mistaken for fantastical creatures. Nanotech used as manna, aliens as dragons, nanobot swarms as spirits.

A major project I've got going is the play test campaign for Jus In Bello, the grand strategy RPG I wrote. This test is scheduled to run until September of 2024.

The world was destroyed by a bioweapon in 1945, and players take control of nations crawling from the ashes in 1950. Most of the larger nations have shattered, and it's up to players to see whether the world is able to rebuild.
