Exploring, learning, and letting curiosity lead the way 🤍

We spent the day wandering through the New York State Museum—from towering exhibits to hands-on history, this place makes learning feel like an adventure for all five of us. Proof that you don’t need faraway travel to spark wonder… sometimes it’s right in your backyard ✨

Us casually deciding if we’re about to change our entire family’s life. 🚐🤍

When I first brought up full-time RV life to my husband, he honestly thought it was just a pipe dream… one of those ideas that sounds fun for a minute and then quietly fades away.

But the more we talked about it.
The more we actually looked into what it could look like.
The more we let ourselves dream a little bigger…

…the more possible it started to feel.

And somewhere in the middle of all the planning, late-night conversations, budget spreadsheets, and “what if we really did this?” moments — we realized how badly we wanted to experience the country with our kids, not someday… but now.

To travel together as a family of five.
To learn on the road.
To see new places through our kids’ eyes.
To choose experiences over stuff.

That was the moment we knew…
we were in. 🚐✨

You’re right… I do.
Because I stopped trying to survive motherhood…
and started living it with my kids instead.

And honestly?
That’s exactly why we’re in the middle of transitioning to RV life.

Somewhere along the way, we realized the life we kept “waiting for someday”
was available to us right now — just in a different form than we were taught to chase.

Less stuff.
More time.
More trails, new towns, slow mornings, and learning together on the road.

We’re a family of five choosing movement over comfort zones,
experiences over expectations,
and memories over square footage.

We don’t want to look back and wish we had gone for it.

So we are. 🚐✨

Episode 12 of our “Steps to Full-Time RV Life” series ➡️ The moment it all started to feel real: purchasing our fifth wheel! 🚌✨

We hadn’t planned to buy right away, but when we saw a used one nearby with everything we’d been dreaming about — a full solar setup, three mini splits, and a washer/dryer combo — we knew it was the perfect opportunity. Buying used came with some risk, but it was half the cost of new, and ready for full-time life.

Having the RV in our hands made everything tangible. This wasn’t just planning anymore — we were doing it. Measuring, organizing, and imagining life on the road as a family of five… it all started here. 💛

Four things that surprised us about visiting New York State Military Museum and Veterans Research Center as a family of five 👇

1️⃣ It’s completely FREE to visit
2️⃣ It’s actually super kid-friendly (our kids loved the scavenger hunt!)
3️⃣ There are exhibits spanning from the Revolutionary War all the way through the Vietnam War
4️⃣ You could easily spend 1–2 hours exploring

Overall, we really loved this adventure and would absolutely recommend it for a low-cost, meaningful family outing in upstate NY. 🇺🇸✨

History hits different when your kids can see it, walk through it, and ask a million questions about it. 🇺🇸

Exploring the New York State Military Museum reminded us that some of the best “adventures” aren’t loud or flashy—they’re the ones that quietly spark curiosity, perspective, and gratitude.

Proof that learning doesn’t need a classroom… just a little time, intention, and a willingness to explore. 🤍

Stepping into history as a family of five 🇺🇸

Exploring the New York State Military Museum reminded us that learning doesn’t just happen at a desk—it happens when kids can see it, touch it, and feel it come to life.

From real artifacts to stories that shaped our state and country, this was one of those places where curiosity led the way and every question turned into a deeper conversation.

Proof that you don’t need anything fancy—just a place, a little time, and the willingness to explore together. 🤍

We’re planning a budget-friendly trip to Connecticut as a family of five and I want your real opinions 👇

If you’ve visited or live in Connecticut, help us decide:

➡️ What was actually worth the money?
➡️ What was overrated for kids?
➡️ What free or low-cost places did you love?
➡️ Any hidden gems or off-the-beaten-path spots?

Bonus points if you remember:
✔ about how much it cost
✔ how long you realistically spent there
✔ the ages of your kids

We’re trying to build a realistic, kid-friendly, experience-first itinerary — not just tourist stops.

Drop your honest pros & cons 👇

Episode 11 of our “Steps to Full-Time RV Life” series ➡️ Making one of the biggest decisions so far: what to do with our house. 🏡✨

We went back and forth — keep it and rent it out, maybe Airbnb it, or sell it outright. Both options had pros and cons, but ultimately we decided to sell the house completely.

Managing a property from hundreds of miles away, dealing with cleaners, maintenance, and the risk of vacancies just didn’t feel right for us. Selling gives us freedom, less stress, and the flexibility to fully embrace full-time RV life. Plus, it keeps the door open for wherever we decide home feels best after traveling the country.

It wasn’t an easy choice, but it was another step that made this dream feel real. 💛

Maturing is realizing it was never the cost of the adventure that was holding me back — it was the time. ⏳

Once we moved to one income and prioritized what really matters, it all clicked. Now our family goes on 10x more adventures than we ever did when I was working full-time.

It’s not the expense of the experiences keeping you from making memories — it’s the time you give yourself to actually live them. 🌿💛
