We’re thrilled to announce our first Curious Table event!

Join us for a remarkable evening with Dr. Mindy Townsend, Dudley Observatory Astronomer at Siena University.

Enjoy a three-course seasonal meal and a dark sky conversation—with a dark chocolate cake to match! Dr. Townsend will take us on a deep dive into how light pollution is stealing our ability to view the heavens. After dinner, she take us outside to view the Moon, Saturn & star systems with a telescope. We’ll end the evening around the fire, under a night sky that will remind us why darkness matters.

Date: Sunday, November 2nd
Time: 6-9 pm
Location: Hilltown Commons, overlooking the Catskills

Happy Tuesday, Capital Region! We're still processing the fact that 10 people were shot and homes burned during the July 4th celebrations in Albany. One of the victims was a 17-year-old spectator who was shot in the head. This is not normal.

The poverty and violence found in our downtown is a tragedy, and it has been for a long time. Pointing fingers will not solve it. So, what can be done? We're starting with highlighting some of the folks who are already doing the work.

We Are Revolutionary is a grassroots organization based in the Mansion District, where we also live. We met this organization when a group of smiling, engaged teenagers came to our door to share their work with the neighborhood. These kids had remarkable presence, and we took note.

Read more about how WaR is guiding the youth as they navigate their ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and find a path towards a better life for them and their families at the link in bio.

Here's our reaction to the shootings last night after the Fourth of July fireworks at the Empire State Plaza. What do you think can be done?

Did the July 4th fireworks show at the Empire State Plaza set off a fire? Seeing reports on Next Door. Anyone have info?...
