Women's Press Club of New York State

Women's Press Club of New York State The WPC the only statewide membership organization by and for women in the media and communications in New York State. The Women’s Press Club was formed in 1966, by a small group of women journalists committed to supporting women in the communications profession.

Today, our members include women and men. They work for radio and television stations, newspapers, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private companies. They are also freelance writers, entrepreneurs and students. The Women’s Press Club year runs September through August. The organization offers programs that cover everything from professional development to issues affecting the industry. Each May, the WPC holds its annual dinner, during which it honors outstanding women in the field, with awards for Woman in the News and Media Person of the Year, as well as selections for the club’s Hall of Honor, which recognizes distinguished women in the field who paved the way and shaped the profession.
