Frequent patrons of Uncommon Grounds know that the cafe’s walls are always adorned with artwork, showcasing the world through the eyes of talented local artists. Since December 1, and through the end of January, the Clifton Park location is housing a wonderful selection of artist Ottavia Huang’s paintings, which highlight the beauty in everyday life. Rory Graham had the pleasure of interviewing her over a cup of coffee, and you can read more about the artist and her work over on our website.

The pop-punk phenoms State Champs are returning to their roots on January 13 to play Empire Live; their first show back home since the end of their beloved Frozen Fest back in 2022 during the Kings of the New Age tour. It’s about time we get to rock out to them live once more, especially considering the self-titled album State Champs has since been released. Originally featured in our January 2026 print issue, check out Rory Graham’s preview of the show, now online.

Every year, Gov’t Mule plays a thematic New Year’s Eve show at the Beacon theatre in NY. This year, the band kicked off what’s become a three-night tradition at Proctors with a celebration of the music of 1971. Maggie Aulman was on hand to review — and photograph — all the action, which you can check out over on our website.

Saratoga Springs may be known for its summer music scene, but each year the city’s New Year’s Eve celebration proves that winter can be just as lively and has been getting bigger every year. This year’s lineup includes headliners The Allman Betts Band, and Maggie Aulman caught up with lead guitarist Duane Betts ahead of the performance.
