Two teenagers and two guns are off the streets of Watervliet. One of the teenagers' parents has been charged with a crime.

Of all the things you probably never want to see in your neighborhood, a couple of teenagers running around with loaded handguns might be near the top of the list. That's exactly what Watervliet Police encountered at the busy intersection of 23rd Street and Second Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Leonardo Guzman, 35, shot and killed DeWitt Miller in front of Albany News & Variety on Central Avenue on Jan. 30.

Leonardo Guzman, who pled guilty to manslaughter for the shooting death of Dewitt Miller, Albany's first homicide of 2025, is scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning in Albany County Court.
