The Albert Lea school board voted 6-0 Oct. 14 to expel a student for 12 months who created a Snapchat message that spread like wildfire in September about a secondary threat to Albert Lea High School. The message came after a separate student was taken into custody for another conversation flagged by the FBI on the Discord platform about a school shooting.

Lakeview Elementary School kindergarteners visited Taylor Kids Pumpkin Patch Thursday morning.
The students learned about what goes into growing pumpkins and saw examples of different types. They also checked out a corn maze and then concluded the visit by picking out a pumpkin to take home.
