The Prairie Press is Growing! 📰
I wanted to share some exciting news. As we move through Year 3 of The Prairie Press, we're continuing to see encouraging growth. Over the past two weeks alone, we've welcomed 20 new subscribers!
It's rewarding to see more and more people leaning into a locally owned, rural newspaper that is committed to telling the stories of our communities. Thank you to everyone who reads, subscribes, advertises, and supports this journey.
With that growth comes a new need.
I'm looking for a part-time backup team member who can step in and help produce the newspaper when needed. This isn't a full-time position, but rather someone who enjoys being creative, values small-town journalism, and wants to help preserve and strengthen our local communities.
Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign is especially important), or the willingness and ability to learn.
Own a Macintosh laptop so we can work together in my office when needed.
Live locally or nearby and have a genuine passion for our small towns and the stories that make them special.
An eye for design, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Compensation:
Paid for each newspaper edition you help produce.
Commission opportunities for any new advertising accounts you bring to The Prairie Press.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, or if you know someone who would be a great fit, I'd love to hear from you. Please email me at [email protected].
The Prairie Press has become more than just a newspaper. It's a community effort, and I'm excited to continue growing it with the right people alongside me.
