Hey all, some sad news. As you may have heard the studio was broken into a few days ago. While I was extremely lucky to have only lost a guitar in the fiasco, I did find out some things that cannot be ignored after speaking to the lock smith who helped after the break in. The front door at Push Drive is installed incorrectly and has severe security flaws. I did call the landlord about this, her response is that it is my responsibility to fix the flaws in her building and that she will not help. My gut response is to leave the location. Why should I continue to pay money to someone who could care less what happens to me. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down.
So, at the end of the month I will be closing the doors at 1715 San Pedro. It's definitely not easy for me, I have become attached to it emotionally, and it's hard to let go...we have created so many great memories there.... But it is done and I will be out by the end of this month. If you know of any other studios that need an engineer or any empty recording studios that are up for grabs, drop me a line.
On a lighter note, wow. :) What a whirlwind Push Drive is. I am proud to say that together we made some of the best albums to come out of Albuquerque, ever. I am so proud of all the bands and artists that came through to make real music. Live music. The kind of music that conveys emotions and makes the hair on the back of your neck stick up with electricity. I thank each and every one of you that came to make the real music with me. It was a great learning experience and you all are forever etched into my heart and mind. I appreciate all of your support and kind words, and I look forward to recording more with you in the future, and to continue Pushing and Driving the Albuquerque music scene into the limelight that we all have been working so hard for.
Love -
