Sometimes the answers are more shades of grey rather than black and white.
I believe that yes, our babies were born perfect just the way they were because God knit them together in our womb.
But, I also believe that because of sin, our bodies are capable of succumbing to sickness, disease, and death.
I believe we should use the natural tools given to us by God that encourage health and wellness as much as possible. Maybe even as our first line of defense when sickness knocks at our front door.
But, I also believe that modern medicine has its place and is an important part of what’s made our western society what it is today.
I believe we as humans are capable of making informed decisions for our own health and wellness without needing to be told what’s best for us by those in authority over us.
But, I also believe God has sovereignly put all rulers and governing authorities over us for our good and his glory. We are called to respect and submit to them unless they are asking us to sin.
I believe we need to appeal to our governing authorities and exercise our constitutional ability to taking laws and mandates we don’t agree with to court.
But, I also believe that if laws are put into place or mandates made that we don’t agree with purely because they don’t make sense, we are still called to be subject to governing authorities.
Sometimes these concepts can feel like a dichotomy, and maybe they are. But erring on the side of caution is wise especially if we remember that, “There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1b
