A announcement is always welcome. This 200+ until hotel/extended stay and 100+ apartment development has been long in the works in Albuquerque. This heavily government subsidized project will bring much needed market rate housing, and corporate rentals Albuquerque's birthplace. Retail and mixed use components will round out this project. It's great to see that these designs have not divorced themselves with our architectural roots in Old town, but instead have opened a new chapter in the evolution of our city.

With Markana uptown construction well underway, we're excited for more multi family in uptown kick off. Here are some great 3D renders of the Markana Flats that should begin construction by EOY. Another 150 dwelling units in this area in addition to the other two active projects will be a game changer for the sub market.

Looks like Titan Development is at it again. With Allison Journal Center construction topped out, Titan has been planning yet another housing development in the area at the corner of Masthead and Jefferson. These 3, 4-story buildings will bring 201 more units of housing to this area. This will further increase the density, & increase population after the work day. With this project complete, you'll likely start to see restaurants, bars, entertainment, and retail get more bullish on entering this submarket.

The crane can be seen from miles away at UNM, but aren't you curious to what the finished product will be? Here are the most recent renders of the new UNMH tower that is currently under construction. The six story tower and parking structure should be finished in about 18 months.

Looks like Legacy Development is not slowing down in Uptown... This project is before DRB now and will likely break ground after their Uptown Markana project is near complete, but it's telling that they're willing to double down in their investment in the area. This will bring 200+ more people in 151 Units/5-stories. This will be big for expanding the submarket south of I-40 and promote further dense infill development.

It appears Jay Rembe, likely with other partners, is planning this 50+ unit, 6-story apartment complex on Central and Vassar across from UNM. This design meets IDO guidelines by providing ground floor parking. The retail space fronting central will be preserved and hopefully redeveloped. It's great to see developers continuing to invest into our urban corridor.

New changes and residents could soon be on the way for Nob Hill thanks to . These 92 units will certainly bring new density, activity, and rare affordable housing to this part of Nob Hill. I'm a fan of the project and, overall, it should have a positive impact on the neighborhood. This project currently meets the CPO-8 (Character Protection Overlay-8) zone guidelines. Based on zoning guidelines, the developers of this project have an opportunity to add an additional floor to the bottom of the building should that floor include ground floor retail/office space. If economically viable, the right idea here would be to invest for the long term, add an additional floor, and create a space that the neighborhood can frequent, and that pays. A little sprinkle of retail would go a long way.

"The Overlook @ Valley View" is set to break ground in late 2020 brought by .nm. This project will bring new density to an area that has historically lacked it. With 9 apartment units on the 2nd and 3rd floors and 10,000 SF of retail (Anytime fitness & restaurants) down below, this is an ideal infill project for this suburban area.
