Bull-Diego Avello is one of the most exciting musicians rising out of Europe (Spain to be exact) right now, and our conversation on Green Chili Chisme shows exactly why. We talk about his creative fire, his journey into filmmaking, his documentary that put him on the map in the film world, and the momentum he’s carrying with his band into his next chapter.

One Year. One Thousand Downloads. Countless Stories.

Less than a year ago, Green Chili Chisme began with a simple mission: preserve the stories behind the artists—their families, their roots, and the moments that shaped who they became.

Today, we've surpassed 1,000 downloads and reached listeners around the world. Every download represents someone who chose to spend time hearing an artist's story, and for that we're incredibly grateful.

Thank you to every guest who trusted us with your memories, and to every listener who has helped Green Chili Chisme grow into an international podcast.

This is only the beginning.

This episode opens with something truly rare: an unreleased performance of “You’re Cheatin’ Heart” by Dr. Patsy Torres herself. And from there… it only gets better. I sat down with Patsy to talk about the life behind the legacy — from her earliest memories of her grandmother’s cinnamon...

Team Coco — as the host of Green Chili Chisme, I remain completely impartial… but in the interest of fairness, I’ve been informed that Willie "Blueballs" Johnson, producer of the original Goober Peas submission, is preparing to tell his side of the story.

Skunk says he’s finishing his blues tracks and then calling Willie directly.

That means Phase II is about to begin, and Sona, we know it was you who tossed the entry. We DEMAND that Conan take action against his employee---errr co-host.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, Skunk explains the whole saga — the submission, the “dis,” and the alleged ACR‑related deletion — right here in this episode at the 16:00 minute mark:

Stay tuned. Willie is pacing the living room.

Skunk is on the pod this week. He shows up with a snowy background, runs through a whole litany of names, and before we even start he’s already faking me out. From there it gets wild: He’s flying to Europe THIS WEEKEND for a Battle of the Bands finals showdown Grew up like Conan O’Brien was hi...

Today's podcast is a super-special one. Skunk Manhattan and I have a very long history that even I forgot a lot of! I met Skunk while I was writing for The Examiner as the San Antonio Music Examiner, interviewing artists from all over the world and fate brought Skunk and I together.

We talk about that, Kimberly Freeman and Jason Rufuss Sewell of One-Eyed Doll and Tregan Guitars, his work on my film, The Last Rose starring Brittany Dunk and Lara Shah and, Conan O'Brien of Conan Needs a Friend/Team Coco and their call for videos, and the dis (we know it was Sona!) they received. We all know why. Sona hates anything Revolutionary‑era. She probably saw the words “Goober Peas” and deleted it on sight. But I digress.

Word is, Willie "Blueballs" Johnson is getting involved and we're fixing to have some words with them... but I digress.
Enjoy one of the most delightful people I know and some great stories from my buddy Christopher.....errr. Skunk Manhattan
