Q1 8:15 - Aledo Bearcats 7, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. After a 3-and-out forced by the defense, the Bearcat offense capitalized on a short field with an 8-yard TD pass from Nash McElree to Kaydon Finley. Bearcats take the early lead on Homecoming Night at Tim Buchanan Stadium.

Q1 5:51 - Aledo Bearcats 14, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. A beautiful misdirection counter play allows Brady Powell to waltz into the end zone untouched from 24 yards out! Lamel Swanson set Aledo up deep in plus territory after a 44-yard punt return.

Q1 2:20 - Aledo Bearcats 21, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. Aledo lights up the scoreboard with another aerial touchdown to Finley. This time, QB Lincoln Tubbs found Finley over the middle for a 13-yard strike!

END Q1: Aledo Bearcats 21, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. Aledo set to receive to open the second quarter after another defensive stand.

Q3 11:01 - Aledo Bearcats 35, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. McElree makes the Fossil Ridge defense pay with his legs as he scampers 29 yards to the house just 59 seconds into the second half!

Q3 7:28 - Aledo Bearcats 42, Fossil Ridge Panthers 0. Tubbs adds another TD toss to his total as TE Christian Kirk hauls in a screen pass and races 36 yards through several would-be Panther tacklers.

Q3 3:39 - Aledo Bearcats 42, Fossil Ridge Panthers 7. The visitors finally get on the board, taking advantage of a bust in Aledo’s coverage for a 70-yard TD pass.

END Q3: Aledo Bearcats 42, Fossil Ridge Panthers 7. Aledo faces 4th-and-3 from the Fossil Ridge 16 to open the 4th quarter.

Rudy Moya provides the exclamation point on a successful Homecoming Night with an 80-yard TD run!

We would like to share the arrangements for our beloved Officer Eric Warren, who faithfully served our community with honor and heart. Visitation will be held at Northside Baptist Church on Friday, September 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place the following day, Saturday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m., also at Northside Baptist Church (910 North Main Street, Weatherford). Guests may park in the South parking lot on East Weatherford Street.

In accordance with Eric’s wishes, there will not be a graveside service following the funeral. However, we are planning a procession to es**rt his family from Springtown to Northside Baptist Church on Saturday morning. Those wishing to take part are asked to meet in the staff parking lot of Springtown High School at 9:00 a.m. The procession will leave between 9:30am and 10:00 a.m. to head to the church.

We welcome our community, fellow officers, and first responders to join us in honoring Eric’s life and service. Your presence and support mean so much to his family and to all of us at the Weatherford Police Department.

🚧 Traffic Alert – I-20 Closure This Week 🚧

🔹 WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. – Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 a.m. (weather permitting)
🔹 WHERE: Eastbound & westbound I-20 will be fully closed from the I-20/I-30 split to Markum Ranch Road
🔹 WHAT: Crews will be pouring the bridge deck at Bentley Road. Motorists will be detoured via I-30 and the I-820 West Loop. Local access to RM 2871 and Markum Ranch Road will remain open.

⚠️ Expect delays and plan extra time if you’ll be traveling in that area overnight.
