🎆🐾 Pet Safety Reminder for the Fourth of July 🐾🎆

The Fourth of July is a time for celebration, but it's also one of the most dangerous times of the year for our furry friends. Loud fireworks, large gatherings, and unfamiliar sights and sounds can cause pets to panic and run away. Every year, shelters see a big increase in lost pets right after the holiday.

Here’s how you can keep your pets safe:

✅ Keep them indoors during fireworks—even if they’re usually okay outside.
✅ Create a safe, quiet space where they feel secure.
✅ Make sure collars and ID tags are up to date—microchipping is even better.
✅ Exercise pets earlier in the day to reduce stress at night.
✅ Never bring them to fireworks shows, even if they seem calm.

If your pet goes missing:
➡️ Check with your local animal shelters ASAP. Many pets are found and turned in by kind neighbors or animal control.
➡️ Post on local lost & found pet groups and apps like Nextdoor and Petfinder.

Let’s keep our pets safe and sound this holiday! If you’ve lost or found a pet, please check with us at WPCAS.

Stay safe and enjoy the 4th responsibly—for you and your pets! 🐶🐱💙❤️
