đź’ś Happy Thursday, friends.
Let’s take a moment to talk about something that’s been on my heart — maybe it’s been tugging at yours too…
👉 The guilt of feeling like you’re not “doing” self-care the right way.
👉 The guilt of skipping that workout.
👉 The guilt of canceling therapy.
👉 The guilt of knowing what you should do, but feeling too tired, too busy, or too overwhelmed to do it.
Sound familiar? I know I’ve been there.
Here’s something we don’t talk about enough:
Self-care isn’t always as simple as lighting a candle, taking a bath, or going for a walk.
Some days, self-care feels out of reach — especially when you’re:
đź’ś Working long hours
đź’ś Caring for family or loved ones
đź’ś Navigating financial stress
đź’ś Feeling emotionally stretched or exhausted
And yet, the world keeps saying:
✨ “You’ve got to take better care of yourself.”
✨ “You need stronger boundaries.”
✨ “You should rest more.”
And when you can’t — or don’t — guilt creeps in. You feel like you’re failing, like you’re not measuring up.
But let me remind you today:
You are not failing at self-care.
It’s that the kind of self-care we’re told to practice doesn’t always meet us where we are.
Self-care isn’t about performing.
It’s not a checklist.
It’s not about doing more, better, faster.
Self-care is about grace. It’s about finding small, honest ways to come back to yourself — and to God — even in the chaos.
