Saturday night marked the end of the 2024 musical season.
What started in November of 2023 was finally at a close.
2 shows done in 6 months, Spamalot grades 9-12 & Frozen Jr grades 7/8.
The season always brings amazing conversations, lots of laughs, a few tears and so many lessons.
Last week I was having a conversation with a friend. He said that he had to present in a class about either the best day of their life or a lesson they learned.
If you know even a little about me those options sound like personal development questions (my fav topic & also a great topic for a keynote 🤫🥳) & it made my own brain spin up at how I might have answered them.
I don't know if I could pick the best day of my life. I think the “best day of your life” is relative to what’s going on and what phase of life you’re in.
However, I can tell you a lesson I learned👇🏼
The biggest lesson I learned in 2024 so far is simple.
Never make yourself smaller just to fit someone else's expectations of you.
Be kind but stand your ground.
Be proud of yourself & what you know you can or have accomplished.
Believe in yourself more than anyone else ever will because at the end of the day, we always go to sleep alone.
Ground yourself & find a way to make sure you always protect your little self.
Let her speak, let her heal.
You are capable of amazing things so don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.
You might not feel that you know “all the things” or be as knowledgeable as someone else but make sure you give yourself the credit that’s due. You are brilliant 🫶🏼
Get into environments that fuel your passions, your mind, your soul.
Laugh more. Do more of the things you love.
Cherish those moments & people who accept you for who you are and replace the ones that don’t.
This life is yours to make exactly how you want it, so go create it 🤩
