South of Watertown is likely to be treacherous today and tomorrow. Please use extreme caution when traveling.

After looking over the latest data I am upping expected snow totals for the Tug Hill. I'm calling for 30 to 40 inches, but would not be surprised to see some locations get more than 40".

Hello and welcome to another pathetic start to winter here in the Thousand Islands. Yes I’m another weather page but strictly for the River communities. Looking for pictures and reports for Cape, Clayton, Alex Bay, and Morristown. This page stays active from Novemeber to April.

I am not a meteorologist. Please always refer to WWNY/Kris Hudson or the National Weather Service for up to date forecasts and alerts.

Snow has moved into the area today. Expect 1-2 inches near the lake shore and river communites. More snow near the Tug.

The NWS is still tracking a potentially hazardous winter storm to move in Thursday thru Saturday. Major snow will be in the forecast with strong winds.

Snow will move in Sunday and drop at least 1-3 inches of white gold.

The next big system moving in will be arriving next Thursday into the weekend. We are looking at some serious snow and wind. As promised it will be in the range from 2in to 2ft. Kidding kidding....but not really.

Seriously though. Keep your eye on this page and 7 News for more information on what impacts this storm will cause.

Wind will be starting to ramp up here for the next few hours. Gusts of up to 50mph are expected. Please report any downed trees or electrical wires to 911.

A northwest wind will continue today making for a cold and blustery day in the Islands. Drifts near open fields will be present on the roads. Can't rule out a stray snow shower but nothing like yesterday.

Disorganized lake effect will stay in the region for a majority of the day. NWS predicting anywhere from 8+12 inches.

I'm pe***ng it at around 3-4 inches. If we get more great. If not so be it.

Please stay away from the Watertown area until they can get their streets cleared.

Enjoy the snow! It's winter in the north country.
