So, when long-time tenant, Planet 9, approached the company about relief efforts for sister-island, Maui, amidst disastrous wildfires, the FBO’s team leapt into action, helping to facilitate aid in a way only general aviation can execute in the wake of disaster.

In the 3 previous installments of this series, we looked at the maintenance contracts available from business aircraft and engine makers. In most cases, airframers offer contracts ranging from parts-only through nose-to-tail coverage.
Some programs cover certain aircraft but not others, or run out after a set period and cannot be renewed. Many companies offer contracts that cover bewilderingly different mixes of parts and services. Decisions about which program to sign up for, or sometimes whether to fly without one, can become complicated fast.

Dassault has continued its track record of major investments to expand and improve customer service. One such investment is a new spares management system, which is now working as intended following some initial debugging. Major new service centers are coming on-line. Jet Center at Santa Fe completed construction on its new executive terminal facility and the renovation of its former FBO space at Santa Fe Regional Airport (KSAF).

The new, 6,200-square-foot customer terminal features a modern, luxurious southwest aesthetic with 18-foot ceilings beautifully appointed with natural wood and metal beams, complemented by an eye-catching chandelier. Its lobby lets in the light with a large, 10-panel window that overlooks the ramp and offers magnificent views of the Jemez Mountains.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued the type certificate for Dassault’s Falcon 6X, followed by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
These certifications conclude a more than two-year-long test campaign during which 1,500 flight hours were logged worldwide. It is a significant step on the path to entry into service for the Falcon 6X, with the first units undergoing final completion.

Backcountry airfields are valuable resources for everything from outdoor adventures to serving agencies/organizations that protect the environment, and Daher is continuing its support for such remote sites with deliveries of critical care defibrillators across the state of Idaho using company-built Kodiak 100 aircraft.

In coordination with the Backcountry Aviation Defibrillator Project, Daher provided two Kodiak 100s – along with pilots, fuel and logistics assistance – to deploy the automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at four airstrips, with one of these AED units sponsored by Daher.

, announced aircraft delivery and revenue results for Q2 2023. Across all metrics, its performance surpassed those from the same quarter in 2022 while the general market continues to stabilize. Compared to deliveries and revenue in Q2 2022, deliveries increased by nearly 14% and revenue has increased by more than 19%.
Piper’s Q2 2023 deliveries are up by seven (7) aircraft, and revenue increased by over $9 million. This success is driven by a strong demand for both Piper’s M-Class and Trainer aircraft.

GE Aerospace joined NASA to unveil the paint scheme for the hybrid electric aircraft it will fly as part of NASA’s Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration (EPFD) project.
Under EPFD, GE Aerospace is developing a megawatt-class hybrid electric powertrain for ground and flight tests in the middle of this decade. Boeing and its subsidiary Aurora Flight Sciences are partnering with GE Aerospace to support the flight tests using a modified Saab 340B aircraft powered by GE’s CT7 engines.

Piper Aircraft, Inc. has been awarded approval from Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation (TCCA) authorities for its M600/SLS HALO safety system with Garmin Autoland and stand-alone auto-throttle.

For M600/SLS aircraft already operating in country, the installation of a simple kit containing some HALO components and a new software load will enable the entire autoland system.

Atlantic Aviation at Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) has joined Women in Aviation International (WAI) chapters and corporate members globally as a host for Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) Greater Delaware Valley – an annual outreach event organized by nonprofit, Aviation Influence, Inc. (AVi). Taking place at Atlantic Aviation’s PNE location, this event aligns with the Greater Delaware Valley on bringing more aerospace opportunities to the region. GIAD aims to inspire the next generation of females in aviation.
Nearly 800 guests are expected to attend this FREE event with a plethora of aerial displays, activities, special surprises, and STEM exhibits.

Safran Electrical & Power, and TCab Tech, a leading eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft company in China, have just announced a cooperation agreement to equip the E20 full-electric aircraft with ENGINeUS electric smart motors.
TCab Tech is currently developing E20, a 5-seater passenger-carrying eVTOL aircraft equipped with six rotors – four tilt and two lift rotors – and a high gull-wing with a conventional tailplane design.
