Late night hairstylist thoughts:
Whilst I’m watching Prisoner of Azkaban with hubby, I’m also doing tax prep.
Yes. It’s 10pm.
Yes. I am exhausted.
Yes. I am overbooked tomorrow.
But this is part of it. This is why I roll my eyes and scroll when I see any TikTok or reel complaining about pricing for self employed anyone.
We have to:
•do our taxes
•answer our inquiries
•maintenance on tools
•shop for supplies
•create our social media posts and ads
•clean our things at work
AND WORK ON TOP OF THAT.

When you are employed by someone, almost all of that (if not all) is done for you. You don’t have to go home and add up all your expenses and send them in to your tax prepper. You don’t have to clean up the office at the end of the day.
You don’t have to come up with social media posts and ads.
These are things that we should get paid for. We should factor this into our pricing. Because it is work. It’s not easy. It isn’t fun to do these things.
But every day some person on the internet complains because it should be cheaper to get a haircut or a color.
All because they don’t know what it costs to run your own little ‘side hobby.’
Not complaining. Just stating facts.

How to book your wedding:
Send:
•Your wedding date
• Venue/getting ready location
• Number of hair services needed
•Inspiration photos

You can always fill out my Contract first, then message me letting me know it has been filled out. After that, I will look over everything, send you confirmation details, and then send my info for your Booking Fee.
Until you have filled out the Contract AND paid the Booking Fee, your date is NOT secured.
Be advised:
• 4-5 person minimum for booking onsite services
• 8-10 person maximum, unless timeline allows. If time allows, when booking a package, it will tell you how much extra it is to add on.

I’m super excited for next year and can’t wait to meet new brides and visit new venues!

There is a reason why I also prefer not to use professional color lines that also have box colors able to be purchased at Walmart. It stems behind the idea of creating a solution for a problem that you created. And what I mean by that is, when somebody uses a box diet at home to stuff up their hair, they then have to pay a professional if they really want it fixed to get it fixed. Then they have to spend even more money on top of that then they would have if they had just gone to the professional to begin with. No I’m not saying that every single professional hairstylist is absolutely amazing and never messes up and always produces almost perfect work. I’ve seen some things on these apps. Trust. But I just don’t like something that claims to be professional, which usually they mean, professional as a synonym to the word better. And then those professional/better products are just as bad as something at Walmart. I’ve seen shampoos say that they are color safe on the front label, but then you look at the back with the ingredients and it literally has one or multiple sulfates. It does not make sense. Because that is the main ingredient that will cause hair color to fade.  this is why I tell people that I try a lot of stuff at home. I have a rotation of nonprofessional and professional products to try because I have green hair. Not only is it green. It’s also a very light green, which means it can fade faster because it’s not as pigmented. So when I tell people what I use at home, I literally can get from Ulta without a license, they’re a little bit impressed. Now there’s only two products that I get shampoo wise, Odele thickening and smoothing. None of the conditioners with that brand are clean. I do need to go to Walmart to look at the new Hask products because they did change the packaging. Whenever a product changes packaging or they start hard-core pushing it in advertising, I always check the ingredients again.
