As a mom of two girls, I'm super concientious about natural foods and cleaners. Working hard to at least limit the processed foods and I try to stay away from harsh chemicals.

Do you like information? Is there such a thing as an information hog??? (insert laughing emoji) I think I've been quite an information hog throughout my entire life.

I loveinformation. I grab it. Many things interest and excite me. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I love that I'm naturally attracted to information because it opens me up to creative projects and ideas all the time. All bad for the same reason. A lot of information keeps me very busy! July is National Grilling Month - another great discovery Mi made recently.

Of course, the intellectually curious in me always strives to look at the origins of things and the history. Where did it come from? Why? How did it happen?

I was totally blown away by learning that barbecoa is the precursor of barbecue. Perhaps naively, I thought barbecue was an invention of Americans and it was fairly recent - like 50 years or so.

Truly, it is great to learn. The more I learn, the sharper my understanding will be, the better and more complete my writing will be.

I love it all. I thrive on information and details.

Is it nerdy to look facts, figures, and information? I think so! But at the same time, it's also a heap of fun and makes me super happy.

Throughout the month of July, I had been making discoveries about what July is all about. I have discovered that Wimbledon, which is 25% of the world's Grand Slam events in tennis, is played over the span of two weeks.

Most incredibly - it has allowed wheelchair competitors for 20 years. I basically fell over when I read this. I think Wimbledon is so fascinating and incredible.

Hmm. I get different thoughts at different times. Different things always inspire me and make me think. One thing that is circulating in my mind today is how easily and effortlessly ANY other business has made sales, gained followers, and developed the kind of loyal following that advertising can't buy.

I've basically bent over backwards creating so much art and so much beauty and rubbing my fingers into the ground designing, writing, laying out, and publishing DMV Shorts Magazine. No matter what I do or how I do it, I remain obscured, hidden, out of reach. Despite my best efforts, nobody knows about DMV Shorts Magazine.

Of the few that know I exist, no one really cares about me, my work, or my very special and unique brand. People never shout me out, promote me, or tell others to buy from me - despite the fact that I have no problem constantly promoting everyone else. Not really equal, is it?

The way you choose to perceive yourself is a powerful motivator. If you think you're going to fail, you will fail. I NEVER believe I'm going to fail. I just believe hopelessly and somewhat idiotically that somewhere out of the blue, some person will appreciate my work and actually want to buy DMV Shorts Magazine.

For any person who tells me that no one will pay $14 - $28 for one issue of DMV Shorts Magazine, I'm happy to let them know that somehow, they are willing to spend $250 for a Coach wristlet or $6 for a Starbucks coffee or $15 for a cocktail at a restaurant or even $50 for a single t-shirt. No, I will not lower my prices. I am staunchly committed to honoring myself and showcasing my value the best way I can. Paying $2,000+ in monthly rent is total BS. Paying $14 - $28 for a single copy of a print magazine, DMV Shorts Magazine - that is called support of a small business owner.

Part of my self-assigned duties for writing daily gratitude posts is to research interesting things I might see that could be included in the list. Throughout the month of July, I've been talking a lot about different dates we should be grateful for.

One of the most unique dates I discovered was the month-long tribute to the bison, a beautiful, majestic mammal I knew nothing about!

The story of the bison is a beautiful one. It encompasses abundance, greed, conservation, and ultimately, a second chance for life. If you get a chance to read up about bison, definitely recommend it.

In case you have not seen, I have been uploading daily gratitude posts since January 1, 2025. I've been uploading those to TikTok and YouTube.

This was my year #2 challenge that I placed on my self. On December 30, 2023, I made a public vow that I was going to dedicate the entire year of 2024 creating and uploading original dance videos as a tool to market DMV Shorts Magazine. I succeeded in that!

On December 27, 2024, I upped the challenge on myself. I decided I would continue my daily dance videos throughout 2025 AND I also added a new challenge to talk about gratitude on a daily basis.

I have met all challenges!
