Less than 24 hours left! Don't wait!

Awe and wonder, sacrifice and redemption
When I read Pangur Bán, The White Cat as a child, it filled me with awe and wonder. I've mentioned it to other readers and writers throughout college and adulthood in the US, but very few people have ever heard of it. It has been out of print for years due to changes at the UK publisher.

In 2018 I got in touch with Fay Sampson, the author, and inquired about including the book in Phoenix Crate, a noblebright fantasy subscription box that I had just founded. Although I wasn't able to get any copies from the publisher at the time, Fay and I eventually came to an agreement that I would republish the book under my Spring Song Press imprint.

I am incredibly honored to bring this book back into print! Spring Song Press self-funded the first book in the series, and it is available now through retailers and through this Kickstarter as a reward. The Kickstarter will help fund the second book in the series, and more if we reach the stretch goals!

Help us bring this incredible series back into print! We've self-funded the first book; help us publish the remaining five!

Another fantastic review for Pangur Bán, the White Cat by Fay Sampson!

Five Stars     The book opens on that brief moment when Pangur Ban is watching a mouse hole in a room where monks are copying manuscripts, “He lay low and still on the floor, but he was not asleep. Under his half-closed eyelids a narrow line of green showed, pierced by a black slit. […]

Very belated repost of ‘s gorgeous pic! She says: Do you like Celtic/Irish books? I adore them so I'm super excited for "Pangur Bán, the White Cat" which is (re) releasing March 16!
(run by the amazing ) is bringing back into print this children's book which originally was published in the '80s--with a gorgeous new cover, and in e-book for the very first time!
Here's the description:
"Now! Now you shall see what happens to those who would break the spell of mermaids!"
Fleeing the king's justice for his accidental crime, the monk Niall has been bewitched by mermaids in the underwater realm, while vengeful Princess Finnglas is in the grip of a terrifying sea monster. Pangur Bán, the white cat, is desperate. He must rescue them—but how?
Only Arthmael can do it.
But who is Arthmael? And where is he? Can Pangur Bán find him in time?
Beautifully written, wilder and less safe than Lewis’s Narnia, this beloved allegory is newly republished. Whether you're discovering it for the first time or rediscovering that book you loved as a child, Pangur Bán, the White Cat delivers breathless fantasy and spiritual depth for young readers and adults. Check the Spring Song Press website for pre-order perks.
I'm looking forward to reading and reviewing it soon, and you can check out the preorder link in my bio!
In the meantime I will leave you with this, one of my favorite bookstagram pics I've ever taken. All the Irish vibes! Makes me feel at home.

The Wraith and the Rose is a Scarlet Pimpernel reimagining with frightening Fair Folk, a delightfully noblebright hero, and a love worth dying for. If Charles Bingley were the Scarlet Pimpernel, his story might look a bit like this. Reviewers say:
All you folks weighed down by doom, gloom, murder and sorrow can lift your spirits with this fantastic, light Victorian Fae Romp. Seriously. If you're looking for Jane Austin does magic, this is for you. Particularly, if you've ever wondered what Jane and Bingley's marriage was like (if they lived near the border to Fairy obviously). The lead MC is Victorian perfection, so sweet it hurts your teeth. And the lead male has the charm and money of Bingley with more s***k, fire and warmth. Theo is my absolute favorite. Between debutant balls ruined by a grumpy Fairy, stolen children, a Scarlet Pimpernel-esce masked magical hero and the pending destruction of the magical world, the sweet charm and handsome manners will delight and uplift.
Also. THAT COVER. -growl-

A retelling of Scarlet Pimpernel with fairies and magic. I love Scarlet Pimpernel, and I love this book. It is utterly delightful. Brightley, as always, does a magnificent job with her creation of the fae and their land.
My abso-freaking-lute most favorite part of this book is Theo, one of the main characters. He is vibrant, funny, kind, and just... the very best person. I want a Theo friend. Everyone should have a Theo friend. He carries this story, he brings it to life. The other characters(Lily, I love Lily! And Juniper and Cedar and Anselm and--) are charming too, but Theo takes the cake.
I loved the ending, but I can't say more because I don't do spoiler reviews. I'll just say it was clever and satisfying and leave it at that.
The attention to detail made this world feel perfectly regency/Victorian-esque. It is a charming story, and the perfect comfort read.

The Wraith and the Rose is up for pre-order! https://amzn.to/3B6Gpov I don't have an official blurb yet, but it's a Scarlet Pimpernel reimagining with scary Fair Folk stealing children, a wonderfully cheerful hero and his tender-hearted wife, swashbuckling heroism, steadfast friendships, and true love. It was utterly delightful to write! The release date on Amazon will be moved up to the real date once I'm finished editing - I anticipate releasing it around the end of August. Signed paperbacks will be available around the same time.

Have you read The Lord of Dreams? Find out more at http://www.springsongpress.com/book-table/the-lord-of-dreams/!

"The Lord of Dreams, is a gorgeously written tale about a girl who finds herself transported into Fairyland, tasked with rescuing a prisoner hidden deep in the sparkling, dangerous world of the Fae.

Unlike so many books where the fae are very human, in Brightley's book they are foreign, magical creatures that live in a world that is so different than our own - a world where time and distance isn't quite as important as things like intentions and dreams.

The story is filled with wonder, beautiful but menacing creatures, and always shadowed by the mesmerizing Lord of Dreams." - reviewer
