If your mind won’t slow down… this prayer is for you too 🙏

God, there’s so much on my mind… so many things I don’t understand… so many things I wish I could fix.
But Your Word says, “Be still and know that I am God.”

So right now, I choose to pause even if it’s hard, even if my thoughts keep racing.

Help me to be still… not just in my body, but in my heart.

Remind me that I don’t have to control everything.

Remind me that You are already working even when I don’t see it.

Give me peace where there is stress, calm where there is fear, and rest where I feel tired and overwhelmed.

Teach me to trust You not just when things are good, but right here in the middle of it.

I give You what I’ve been carrying.
You are God and I am not

In Jesus’ name, I pray....Amen. ❤️ 🙏

If this prayer has blessed you, do not keep it to yourself. And I invite you to follow God is the Author of Love for more real, simple prayers like this.

Sometimes God answers prayers right away… and sometimes He doesn’t.

That’s the part people don’t always talk about, because it’s harder to sit in.

When nothing changes, it’s easy to start questioning everything.

You wonder if God is listening… or if you did something wrong.

You can even start to feel like maybe the answer is just no. Maybe? But a delay doesn’t always mean rejection either.

Sometimes God is still working; just not in the way you expected. And a lot of the time, He’s not only working on the situation… He’s working on you too.

That’s been our family’s story for almost two years now. Waiting is uncomfortable. I admit it. There’s no way around it.

But I have noticed from our own experience is that it grows your faith in a different way, because you’re learning to trust God without seeing immediate results.

So today I want to remind you that if you’re still praying and nothing has changed yet, it doesn’t mean God is absent.

It might mean He’s doing something deeper than what you asked for. To be honest, I remind myself of this truth so often too.

So let's keep praying.

What are you trusting God for right now? For me, it's my family's health especially my husband’s. He has been suffering for so long and I would just love for him to get some relief and feel his whole self again.

As long as the sky is blue, there is still hope.

Things continue to be heavy on our end… new symptoms, new medical questions with no clear answers, financial uncertainty, and quiet moments where we find ourselves asking, “Why does it keep happening?”

But in the middle of all this, I’ve been holding on to the miracles; the kind no human can explain.

We’ve been living on God’s grace for so long now. Having food to eat, a roof over our heads, and now even transportation for doctor visits… these are not small things. They are blessings.

It feels like God gently whispering, “I am still here, my children.”

Today, I looked at my daughter, Miahy, under this wide blue sky… and I was reminded: hope hasn’t left us.

Maybe it’s not the kind of hope we expected. But it’s there...in this little life I’m blessed to call my daughter, in another day given, in the strength to keep going in the middle of it all.

If you’re in a season where things keep piling up… you’re not alone. And as long as the sky is blue, there is still hope. 💙

Everyone tells me, “You look JUST like Miahy.”

I usually don’t see it.

But then I found this picture of little me in my dad’s arms…and okay. I actually kind of see her. 😂

The snacks in my hands. Completely uninterested in the camera. Clearly more concerned with whatever I was eating than capturing a cute family photo. Very Miahy behavior. lol

But the longer I looked at this picture, the less I looked at *me.*

I started looking at my parents.

And that’s when this photo became something else entirely.

Look at their faces.

They’re home. Dressed casually. Nothing staged. Nobody seems concerned about looking picture-perfect.

They just look… happy.

I don’t even know how old I was here.

But I remember my mom’s deep voice.

I remember my dad’s voice and his laughter.

I remember watching them show affection to each other.

My mom has since passed away, and there are so many details from those years that time has taken from me.

But it hasn’t taken "that."

I remember what love felt like in our home.

And looking at this picture made me realize something:

Maybe that’s why I take so many pictures and videos of Miahy.

Most of them will never be posted here.

They’re not content.

They’re evidence.

Evidence that she was held.

That we laughed.

That her parents were silly together.

That ordinary days mattered.

That somebody thought the random little things she did were worth pulling out a camera for.

That her childhood wasn’t perfect, but she was deeply loved through it.

Because someday, these pictures will be old too.

My face and my husband’s face will be the faces *she* studies.

And when that day comes whether we’re sitting right beside her or we’ve been gone for years, I hope she looks past herself in the picture.

I hope she looks at us, at our faces, at the way we’re holding her, and I hope she can tell, without needing anyone to explain it:

“My parents were so happy I was theirs.”❤️

What if home isn’t one place?❤️🇲🇬

They say home is where your heart is…but no one tells you how your heart can stretch across oceans.

This was us...Madagascar, 2023.

I’ve learned that home isn’t something you find once.
It’s something you carry…in the people God gives you to love.

Maybe “home” has more than one address. Can anyone relate?

A little moment from our language journey ❤️🇲🇬

This time… I changed the words 😅
I sang: “If you’re happy… laugh”...and she actually did 🥹😂

Passing down my language (Malagasy) doesn’t always look “right,”and it’s far from perfect… but I’m doing my best.

Trust me sometimes I tell Miahy something in Malagasy, and she answers in Spanish 😅 …but I’m not giving up.

And for those of us raising mixed children away from our home country…you understand how important these little moments are.

Holding on to culture, language, identity one word, one song...🙏

This is our real life: learning, playing, repeating as we go. And it’s happening in the small moments like this. 🫂

If you’re raising kids away from home, or trying to pass something down too…you’re not alone.

We’re all just doing our best,
one little moment at a time...

What’s something you’re trying to pass down to your kids (or wish you had)?

“Where God guides, He provides.”

That sounds beautiful…until you’re the one living it.

Because what about the days when you don’t know where He’s guiding you? When nothing feels clear…when the provision doesn’t look like you expected?

We have literally been living off God’s grace.

Medical bills. Debts we couldn’t carry… somehow forgiven. Unexpected help with rent. Moments where we thought… what if we lose everything. Even the fear of not having a place to stay.

And the truth is…this story is not fully resolved yet. It’s not easy today. We’re still walking through it.

But the Lord is truly showing up…again and again. And He hasn’t forgotten us.

Not because everything worked out the way we planned. But because God keeps making a way; sometimes quietly, sometimes at the very last minute…but always faithfully.

This picture looks like a simple moment, but behind it is a story of prayers, tears, and choosing to trust God when we had no other option.

If you’re in a season where things don’t make sense, this is your reminder: God doesn’t always show you the whole path, but He will meet you in it.

And sometimes, provision doesn’t look like abundance, it looks like just enough to keep going.

🙏 If you’re believing God for something right now, comment “I’m trusting You, Lord”
❤️ Save this for the days you feel overwhelmed
