Barrett W. Key, of Alexandria, was arrested by Noblesville Police at approximately 1:06 a.m. on Saturday.

Noblesville police stopped Key after a driving complaint was called into Hamilton County Dispatch regarding a black Cadillac Escalade driving slow on its rims. When officers stopped Key, they observed the odor of alcohol, Key’s speech was slurred and slow, his eyes were watery and red, his manual dexterity was described as poor, his balance was poor and unsteady. Officers also noted it appeared as if there was dried vomit or food on Key’s shirt.

The Anderson Herald Bulletin officially crowned Alexandria-Monroe High School’s standout athlete Will Rowland as the winner of the 2026 Boys’ Johnny Wilson Award. The Alexandria Community School Corporation has recently invested in a project to put in a turf football field and update equipment for the track and field team. The new turf field will be lined for both the football and the soccer teams to play games on.

INDIANAPOLIS — Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre’s new summer play is going “wrong” – in the most hilarious ways! The award-winning comedy The Play That Goes Wrong is now on stage through Aug. 23.

It’s opening night for the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything theatres never want in a show: an unconscious leading lady, a co**se that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines).

Former owner, Barney Maynard, recently restored and donated the original Alexandria Bakery sign to Andy and Nichole DiRuzza, current owners. DiRuzza’s family founded and established the bakery as a local staple before Maynard purchased it and operated it from 2003 to 2008 before it closed its doors.

Alexandria resident, native, and Vietnam veteran, Ed Gaines, was presented with a ‘Quilt of Valor’ by the local chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Gaines was honored with the quilt, which was hand stitched by Alexandria resident, Gloria LeMaster. Family members and friends gathered at the Alexandria Bakery to celebrate with Gaines.

Gaines served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He served in Vietnam in 1968 as a Combat Engineers. During his time of service, Gaines received many awards including the Purple Heart. In 2024, Gaines was honored to be a member of the only Purple Heart Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Gaines has been married to wife Evelyn for 58 years.
