📌Know the Numbers Before You Sign

Money matters — and in Poland's 2026 job market, knowing the salary rules can protect you from surprises.

1. Confirm Who Pays the Permit Fee Government fees for work permits have increased significantly since late 2025.

A standard work permit now costs PLN 400 (PLN 800 for posted workers).
The fee is non-refundable even if your permit is denied make sure your employer confirms in writing that they are covering this cost.

2. Know the Minimum Salary Thresholds Your contract must meet the legal minimum or it will be automatically rejected.

The national gross minimum wage is PLN 4,806 per month (approx. PLN 31.40/hour) as of January 1, 2026.

If you're applying for roles in Warsaw, some permits require a minimum of PLN 5,926.63.

Housing allowances, car benefits, or in-kind perks do NOT count toward this minimum only cash or bank transfer salary does.

📌Go Digital or Stay Home
As of January 1, 2026, Poland has moved to a 100% digital immigration system. If you're planning to work there, going paperless is no longer optional it's the law.

✅Paper is Dead
Physical applications are now legally considered "not filed."

Everything from work permits to residence applications must be submitted electronically through the praca.gov.pl portal.
Ask your prospective employer upfront if they are set up on the Case Management Module (MOS).

✅The Scanned Copy Rule
Your employment contract must be uploaded before your first day of work.

A scanned, signed copy must be submitted to the government portal in advance.
If this step is skipped, your work permit can be voided instantly.

✅Sworn Translations are Mandatory
Any document not in Polish needs a certified translation.

Diplomas, certifications, and credentials must be translated by a translator officially registered in Poland.
Without this, the digital system will reject your supporting documents.

Applying for jobs in Poland is different from what you may be used to. Getting these details right can mean the difference between being shortlisted or ignored.

1. Use a European-Format CV Polish employers have specific expectations for your resume.
Include a professional photo, a detailed skills section, and your work history in reverse chronological order.
Most importantly, add a GDPR consent clause (Klausula RODO) at the bottom of your CV this gives the employer legal permission to process your personal data.
Without this clause, your CV may be automatically disregarded.

2. Networking Still Matters Don't rely on job boards alone.
Professional social media profiles (especially LinkedIn) are highly valued by Polish recruiters.
