Life sure has a way of taking you in directions that you might not be ready for. I have moved from doing sound gigs 2 or more days a week in State College, to a volunteer role in my church where my wife and I attend.
Even though I am behind the console every Sunday at church, I still get asked to do a few special events.

Just came from a funeral at church. Young man with a young family. Funerals are just hard to work. But he had many friends and family talk how he impacted their lives. And what a testimony for Christ he had to his friends.

Since January of this year I have returned to helping the church I am a member at with the production team for their services. They have so many issues for all areas of technology the use. We are a small group but we love to serve the people that attend our in person services and watch our online recordings.
This will put my twenty years of professional experience and the ten years of church work to the test. I am not the wisest in this field but I can learn still and try to find wiser ones to ask question of and listen to their experience.

Just as a reminder to all, could we remember at this time of year to go out of our way and be courteous to others. It is supposed to be a joyful season but seems like we as a society are more angry and selfish than every. One nice word to someone could change their day.

This past year has been about getting back to my roots in the audio field. I started out in the late 1980’s early 1990’s as a volunteer in my local church as an aydio tech. While thru the 1990’s I basically was the volunteer lead for that ministry in that church.
Well this past February I agreed to help a small but very alive local Nazarene church as their audio engineer. My time there was short thru September but we had made significant progress in the quality of their production. But God called me to move to another church one that my wife and I belong to and that needed help in the area of volunteers.
I thank God for a church that is very welcoming and appreciates the gifts of each of the members have to offer. I know I am just starting new again in this place but I look forward to see how God will use me here. I might not be getting paid but the thanks I get when I answer just a simple question goes a long way for me.

It has been two years since I regularly did anything in the audio arena. This past month I started as a volunteering my time to a local church as their audio tech. It’s a small church around 50-75 people attending but it is enjoyable to be back in the same situation I was in when I started my audio engineering venture.
I am glad for this opportunity to come my way.

I know it has been a long time since I posted anything on this page but my business as audio tech has been on a hiatus due to health issues and the Covid-19 pandemic. But for all of us, I hope that we are seeing a return to normal and can again enjoy live music venues. If I am not working some gigs I plan on at least showing up at some of the places in State College that I worked in. Have a good Fourth of July and be safe attending the celebrations you might attend.

Well hopefully in just less than sixty days I should be able to be back working some club gigs again. It’s been a long and hard time since July when I started having some health issues. Glad that my health is improving now.

I have been taking a break from the audio and club scene in State College due to health issues. Hope to be back in early 2020 working with the bands at Cafe 210 West.

Jackie Leader Yingling and I will be spending the evening at Zeno’s Pub in State College for the George Strothers Project. Been listening the last few days to their music and I cannot wait to work with them tonight as I fill in down at Zeno’s as the audio tech.
