Lifeline:
Lifeline is a plan that assists qualified low-income Iowans by providing a monthly credit on their Telephone or Internet bill. The customer may only receive assistance from one service, either Telephone or Internet connection, and for only one person.
Low-income telephone assistance does not cover the cost of a telephone or the cost of wiring inside your home. Low-income Internet assistance does not cover the cost of a cable modem or the cost of wiring inside your home.
To be eligible for assistance in the Lifeline program, an applicant must participate in one of the following: Medicaid, SNAP, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Federal Poverty Guidelines, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit.
