There are plenty of family activities in the fall, but you’re spending your time at home doing bookwork. The AMU SmartHub app can help free up time. Use SmartHub to manage AMU services and pay AMU bills online with your smartphone or tablet. You can even manage your AMU Whole-Home Wi-Fi network with SmartHub. Register for SmartHub at the AMU website or download the app to your smartphone.

When new plumbing is installed, it is important to flush the household water system by opening the taps and letting the water run. A licensed plumber should provide instructions on how to flush the system. This should include flushing water throughout the house by opening cold water faucets one at a time, starting with the lowest floor up the the highest floor in the house. Do not flush a hot water faucet until after the cold water system has been flushed.

Sun outages are expected to occur from late September to mid-October. A sun outage occurs when the sun passes directly behind a satellite transmitting signals to the Earth, and the sun's energy or solar radiation interferes with the satellite's signal.
During this time, AMU Dynamic TV customers may experience a brief disruption to their cable TV signal, which may affect picture quality. These outages may last a few seconds to several minutes. Customers may see a complete loss of signal, pixelated or frozen pictures, or audio distortion.

Lifeline:
Lifeline is a plan that assists qualified low-income Iowans by providing a monthly credit on their Telephone or Internet bill. The customer may only receive assistance from one service, either Telephone or Internet connection, and for only one person.
Low-income telephone assistance does not cover the cost of a telephone or the cost of wiring inside your home. Low-income Internet assistance does not cover the cost of a cable modem or the cost of wiring inside your home.

To be eligible for assistance in the Lifeline program, an applicant must participate in one of the following: Medicaid, SNAP, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Federal Poverty Guidelines, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit. Applications are available at the Algona Municipal Utilities office or at the following link: https://www.netamu.com/lifeline.php
