This is going to be lengthy but as we celebrate our 21st year in business anniversary this Friday there’s a woman that deserves to be recognized because behind every latte, every sandwich, every smile, there has always been one driving force: Gina Duffy. For 15 of those 21 years, my mom poured her ENTIRE LIFE into this shop , working nearly 16-hour days, seven days a week. There were no vacations. No grandparents’ days . No weeknight parties. Her weekends weren’t rest, they were shopping, cleaning, and prepping to do it all over again the next week.

There were years she worked alone. Years with just one person by her side. And yet she showed up …every single morning at 3 AM . Yes 3am. Every morning scrambling eggs, frying bacon, making soups from scratch, brewing coffee, creating sandwhiches, decorating, and making Jitters beautiful inside and out. Every recipe, every idea, every touch of creativity came straight from her own mind. She never had ChatGPT, she never duplicated anyones ideas. It was always her creativity, her originality, her love for fresh, made every-day food and coffee.

When people talk about “blood, sweat, and tears,” that small business owners endure… this is what they mean. Small business isn’t about getting rich …it’s about people. It’s about community. And if you know Gina, you know she has never turned anyone away. Even if the shop was cleaned up for the day, she would still pour you a cup of coffee. Even if the food was gone, she always found a way to feed you. Every donation, every raffle basket, every event. She made sure it was perfect. She has always believed in doing the right thing as a business owner and that will lead you to real sucsess and she’s instilled that in us..the next generation.

Sometimes I wonder how she’s still going, how she still gets up every morning to do this and the answer is simple , it’s her love for all of you. Because most people couldn’t survive this grind, but she has, for 21 years, with heart, true dedication and faith.

So today, we say thank you. Thank you, Mom, for paving the way for us, for showing us what true dedication looks like, and for building a place that has touched so many lives.

You are, and always will be Jitters. 💛

Here’s to 21 years and to the community that made it all possible!!!!

Please celebrate with us this Friday Sept 26th 🎊🎉 7-2pm
