Behind the scenes of Boldly Forward — one of our most ambitious branded documentaries to date.

From the earliest planning calls to the final render, this project was an incredible opportunity to do what we love: tell meaningful stories with cinematic craft. Over the course of several weeks, our team collaborated closely with Shift4 to produce a film that not only honored founder Jared Isaacman’s legacy, but captured the spirit of a company in continually in motion.

We shot interviews inside Shift4’s Center Valley, PA headquarters — transforming offices and open spaces into clean, stylized setups. Huge thanks to their team for giving us the freedom to work creatively inside a fully operational fintech campus. We also flew to Miami to conduct additional interviews, including one in a luxury condo building where we turned a party room into a polished interview space.

Later in the process, we returned for a fifth production day to capture dynamic drone footage of the Shift4 campus at dusk. This golden-hour shoot added scale and atmosphere to the film’s visual language — showcasing the headquarters from a new perspective and bringing added depth to the opening and closing sequences.

In total, we conducted 18 interviews, navigated tight timelines, and hauled cases of equipment across states. But what made it special was the people: every interview was packed with insight, humor, vulnerability, and pride. You can feel it in the footage — and you’ll feel it in the final film.

Stay tuned — the finished film is coming soon, and we can’t wait for you to see it!

Skynine is proud to have partnered with the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals (PASNAP) for a powerful milestone event — PASNAP's 25th anniversary at the annual House of Delegates.

To mark the occasion, we produced a 15-minute documentary film highlighting PASNAP’s powerful history — from its grassroots beginnings to its ongoing impact across Pennsylvania’s healthcare landscape. Over the course of a couple days, our cinema team filmed interviews at PASNAP’s office in Plymouth Meeting with both founding leaders and current members of the organization. These voices were thoughtfully interwoven in post-production, paired with user-submitted videos and archival photographs, and brought to life with animated motion graphics — including a custom timeline that honored and illustrated the union’s 25-year journey. The film premiered on the big screen at this year’s House of Delegates, serving as both a tribute and a rallying call for the next chapter.

At the live event, our cinematographers returned to capture two days of b-roll and conducted interviews to produce a dynamic highlights film — preserving not only the energy and inspiration of the gathering, but the full spectrum of emotion on display. From heartfelt reflections to lighthearted moments of celebration, we aimed to reflect the spirit and solidarity that defined the occasion.

It was an honor to help shine a spotlight on an organization fighting tirelessly for those who care for us all!

“100% Baldwin” is a philanthropy video created for The Baldwin School, celebrating the perseverance, creativity, and leadership of Baldwin girls at every stage of their academic journey.

Told through a series of powerful vignettes, the film brings audiences into the minds of five students as they face a challenge at 80%—and push past it with determination, support, and heart to reach 100%. From the swimmer powering through a pre-dawn practice, to the artist struggling with her vision, to the senior solving a real-world problem, each story is narrated by the student herself, giving voice to the inner drive that defines the Baldwin experience.

We shot on-location over 3 aggressive shoot days with a 5-person crew—navigating humid pool decks, live classrooms, tech rehearsals, and tight schedules with precision and care.

From the classroom to the stage, this piece is a testament to the strength and spirit of Baldwin girls—and the power of storytelling to amplify that.

Big thanks to fine folks at The Baldwin School for trusting us to bring this vision to life!

We had an awesome time at Acorn Industrial Products, capturing slick footage of their high-performance casters and bearings. Our team focused on getting eye-catching shots that will bring their new website banner to life, highlighting the precision and quality that Acorn is known for. From smooth motion close-ups to creative product angles, we’re excited to showcase their innovations in action!

One of the coolest shots we captured involved cueing up a variety of wheels and bearings of different shapes and sizes and releasing them down a hallway. Filming at high frame rates, we captured them rolling at different speeds, creating a visually striking and dynamic shot. This sequence became the opening clip in the final edit, serving as an engaging transition that perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the video.

And that was a wrap! Our third and final day of filming brought us into the heart of Baldwin’s academic and creative spaces, capturing the energy and curiosity that defined their students.

In the Upper School, we filmed a scene in a classroom with a Harkness table, where students engaged in deep discussion, challenged ideas, and sought answers together. This wasn’t chosen just for its looks—it was a reflection of Baldwin’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and collaboration.

Later, we moved to the Middle School art room, where creativity took center stage. We captured the moment a young artist proudly finished a piece she had been working on, showcasing the confidence and joy that came from self-expression.

A key production tool throughout the day was the Dana Dolly, which allowed us to create smooth, dynamic shots that highlighted the action in both locations. Whether gliding across the Harkness table or revealing the artist behind the canvas, the movement added depth and immersion to each scene.

It was a pleasure working with the team at .baldwin.school!

DAY TWO of our video commercial shoot at .baldwin.school was all about capturing hands-on learning, small victories, and everyday moments of joy!

We started the day in the Lower School DREAM Lab, where young students engaged in creative, hands-on learning using woodworking tools. The second half of the day was spent roaming campus, capturing the magic of small victories and happy moments—from student-teacher interactions in class and friends gathering in common spaces to an upper school student solving a math equation on the whiteboard.
Each scene reinforced the energy, curiosity, and support that make Baldwin such a special place.

Can’t wait to share more soon! 🎥📚

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Skynine Portfolio Showcase - Winter 2024

Skynine received the call as soon as our friends at the West Chester University Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band were invited to perform at the 135th Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. It made perfect sense—after producing their Road to Macy’s film in 2016 (along with several other fun video projects), they knew we had what it took to capture an even longer parade (more on that later)!

Two of our most seasoned cinematographers traveled with the band for six days, shadowing the members throughout the entire trip. From rehearsals at Pasadena City College, to shopping experiences and tourist attractions, and of course the city of Pasadena itself, we were there for it all. We even spent New Year’s Eve with the group on the Santa Monica beach (these students sure know how to party!).

On New Year’s Day, we arrived at the parade route around 4 a.m. It was early, but the RamBand was ready to bring excitement to the streets of Pasadena. As cinematographers, we traveled “light”—if you can call a camera rig, motorized gimbal, microphone, and a V-mount battery “light”—knowing we had a full five and a half miles ahead of us! Capturing a parade isn’t for the faint of heart; even when you stop to get the perfect shot, the parade keeps moving—it’s a true “first to arrive, last to leave” experience!

After the primary shooting on the trip was completed, we assembled an initial rough cut to get a sense of the film’s flow. We then scheduled in-person interviews with the RamBand Drum Majors to add an additional narrative layer to the piece. These interviews helped tie up loose ends and connect parts of the film that otherwise wouldn’t have come together amidst all the chaos. We created a captivating trailer along with a handful of other social media teasers that were released every couple weeks.

As you can imagine, post-production was a massive undertaking. Two cinema cameras shooting in RAW—plus a handful of GoPros and DJI gadgets—recording constantly for six days filled up hard drives pretty quickly. We spent the next couple of months crafting their story with some truly epic footage, and we’re thrilled with how it all turned out!

Skynine Portfolio Showcase - Fall 2023

Skynine partnered with Shift4 Payments, Inc. to create a high-energy recruitment video showcasing their amazing new offices in Allentown, PA and Tampa, FL. This dynamic video highlighted Shift4’s exciting work environment, featuring inspiring workstations, game rooms, and lounges, all set in stunning high-rise buildings. Shot on location, we combined live footage with slick motion graphics to create a visually engaging piece designed to “hype” future employees and get them excited about joining this innovative tech company.

One interesting challenge was the abundance of modern glass panes separating various office spaces and conference rooms, with windows everywhere! While it looked absolutely stunning in person, we had to get creative by using neutral density filters and polarizing lenses to manage the intense reflections. After all, we wanted to do it justice in-camera (and we did)!

Throughout the entire production, we kept thinking, “Wow, it would be nice to work here!” Capturing the vibrant atmosphere of the offices was effortless, and while both location were breathtaking, we were especially impressed by the stunning views from the Tampa location!

Skynine Portfolio Showcase - Spring 2019

Every so often we get an opportunity to work on a unique project with a fascinating story… this one is no exception. In celebration of their 10 year anniversary, we created a 20 minute documentary for Draken International that premiered in Las Vegas in the spring of 2019.

Draken International is a provider of tactical fighter aircraft for contract air services including military and defense industry customers. They are quite literally the modern day “Top Gun” as they play the role of the “bad guys” against military trainees.

Our crew was on-location for several days at Draken’s headquarters in Lakeland Linder International Airport in Lakeland, Florida, Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, and Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, PA. After capturing the primary footage, we returned to interview the flight crew in a plane hanger to capture the story from their perspectives. We saw some bad ass aircraft and equipment while meeting some fantastic people along the way!

This film has since been our most watched video with over 154,000+ views!
