How do you talk about your body?

So many of us are our own worst critics, focusing on what we wish we could change instead of honoring all the ways our bodies support us every single day. But here’s the truth: Your words matter. Your body is listening.

It’s time to shift the conversation. Instead of speaking to yourself with judgment, try compassion, gratitude, and respect.

Here are some ways to improve your self-talk:

🌿 Notice & Reframe – When a negative thought comes up, pause and ask yourself: Would I say this to a friend? If not, reframe it with kindness.

🌿 Focus on Function, Not Flaws – Your body breathes, moves, and carries you through life. Shift from “I hate my thighs” to “My legs allow me to dance, walk, and explore the world.”

🌿 Practice Daily Affirmations – Speak love into your reflection. Try: “I am worthy, just as I am.” “My body is strong and capable.” “I honor my body with kindness.”

🌿 Surround Yourself with Positivity – Unfollow accounts that make you feel unworthy and fill your space with uplifting voices that celebrate all bodies.

🌿 Fuel with Love – Instead of seeing food as something to control, view it as nourishment for your body, mind, and soul.

💛 Your body is your lifelong home—speak to it with love.

In my early 20’s, I was tracking macros and calories.

I remember thinking it felt good to be in control of what was going into my body so I could produce specific results (sports performance and body composition).

People paid me to get them into the best shape of their lives and it was pretty much my entire identity.

I loved the science of it and I felt confident in myself professionally, athletically, and personally.

Eventually, I retired from being a competitive athlete and just wanted to focus on my longevity. It was a hard transition for me because I didn’t know who I’d be without sports.

I recognized that the next phase of my life didn’t include me tracking my food so meticulously. But good nutrition is still a top value of mine (and so is having fun with food).

So, I transitioned into intuitive eating.

These slides briefly outline how I made that transition and let go of something that was no longer in alignment with the version of myself that I was stepping into.

I recently asked myself a simple yet profound question: What do I want most in life?

The answer that echoed through my heart was love. A love so abundant that it overflows from within me and touches every heart & soul I meet. 💫

We spend so much time chasing love—seeking it through achievements, relationships, and external validation. But what if love isn’t something to chase? What if it’s something we already are?

Real, deep, unconditional love starts from within. When we stop running and simply be, we find the love we’ve been searching for- self-love. A love that nurtures, forgives, and holds no judgment. A love that sets us free from guilt & shame.

And when we fill ourselves up with this kind of love, something magical happens… we begin to share it effortlessly, receiving it just as easily.
