On October 20th, the Alliance Fire Department unveiled their new Safe Haven Baby Box that allows for safe surrendering of newborns. Parents can open the safe haven box and place their newborn inside, where a sensor inside will notify the firefighters that it has been opened, and the box is kept warm and safe from outside elements.

Two more Safe Haven boxes are planned to be built in the future

This week we hosted the Alliance for Community Media Central States Region Annual Conference & Trade Show and the Philo Festival of Media Arts at the Glamorgan Castle, the University of Mount Union, and Alliance High School. The event was a great networking opportunity for the AHS Video Productions CTE students and a great professional development opportunity for the attendees, who came from local PEG TV stations throughout multiple states. Thank you very much to the ACM for allowing us to host this event, as well as our host sites, and our attendees and vendors.
