Northbound 65 is for sure closed. I've been watching roadworkers turn traffic around for 15 minutes. Please be considerate and heed the road sign at 65 & 24. I will post updates on southbound 65 ASAP but I'm currently driving the long way back to Carrollton, so it might be a bit.

Hwy 65 at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19. The water was deep; you could barely see the line. Southbound traffic was coming through, but it was closed to northbound traffic. Road workers said it would be closed to southbound traffic soon. I'm on the side of the road at Waverly, and I've only seen two southbound cars come through after me.

Guys, I just drug my butt out of bed to go check the road, and Hwy 65 is NOT closed heading south. There's a lot of water over the road, but there are flagmen allowing people through. Will post pictures shortly.

Report - 7/ 27/19
Missouri River - was 21.81. Now at 21.79’ which is pretty level. The prediction shows a leveling off and then slow drop.
Missouri River at Waverly is also showing a little rise to 24.88. Prediction shows leveling off.
Remember - predictions are only good for 24 hours and largely assume no more rain.

As many of you have heard water is off of J Hwy. Modot is saying structural issues with the roadbed and bridge. They have engineers who will be assessing. It is still closed and this is for your safety. Have heard State Patrol and Hardin Police patrolling it - If you would like to make a donation.

As long as Gavin’s Point maintains releases at 70,000 cfs. the river will remain higher than normal. Now they are saying thru summer and into fall. In other words - they are not sure. Please remember that this is twice as much as normal releases for this time of year. Tuttle Creek still releasing almost 21,000cfs.

Rt DD is open.
Rt 10 open all the way to Carrollton

Hardin Fire responded today to a request from Braymer Fire for 3 personnel for Grid Search help.

Route 41 update! This was taken yesterday when the river was rising, BUT today's hydrographs look like it's beginning to level off. There are still a couple of inches of water in one place, but our crews in the field are hopeful they will not have to close it again. USE CAUTION.

Some good news! Another east/west route has reopened in Carroll County after flooding. Unfortunately, other routes remain closed:
• Route 10 – OPEN – the entire length of Route 10 is now open.
• Route 41 to Miami– CLOSED – water is receding, but extensive damage has undermined the roadway and it will need repaired by a contractor before it is safe for motorists
• US Route 65 south of Carrollton – CLOSED – water is still high and over the roadway. Damage cannot be assessed until water recedes.

These pictures of Hwy 41 are from last week (June 24) while I was on vacation, but now that I'm caught up I wanted to share them so that people can see the damage happening to the surface of the road. The water picture is not accurate anymore, but it does illustrate how fast the water is/was moving across the roadway.

The one who goofed this week is the new sports writer. He messed up big time with the M-340 article. He had everyone as arriving in minutes not hours and days. He may want to study up on the race and rewrite that article.
Hello. I was wondering when the fireworks display was for the 4th of July.
