Michigan Rocks

Michigan Rocks Michigan Rocks is about hunting rocks and then either polishing them or making something from them. I also work with other rocks from around the world.

Nancy, Rob, and our friend Vicky hit the Lake Superior beach in search of agates and other beautiful rocks. Nancy also made a big announcement.

Big news! My wife Nancy has been very busy writing not one, but two novels, Slinging Bullets and Trial by Bullet. They are being released today on Apple and Amazon and we would be very thankful if you read them. Nancy intended for them to be digital books, but Amazon will print a copy on demand if you prefer a physical copy. If you enjoy the book, please leave a review and tell your friends. If you don’t enjoy it, there’s no need to tell anyone!

The Thunder Bay Island Lighthouse Preservation Society will be selling some Petoskey stones that I polished at the Alpena Farmer's Market this Saturday, July 5th. Some Petoskey stone pendants that Sam made will be available at his family's stand. His profits will go toward his college education. Neither Sam nor I will be there, but if you happen to be in town and would like to buy some Petoskey stones that would be a good place to do it.

My family visited Kelleys Island recently, and ended up on a beach of all places. Since it was a rocky beach, can you guess how I spent my time?

Sometimes you're going to be disappointed with the results of a tumble. It's (almost) never too late to try again.

Liz and Craig from OPE Rocks (https://www.facebook.com/OPERocks) visited Michigan for some Petoskey stone and puddingstone hunting. They seemed to have a good time. We found lots!

Sometimes a tumbler just doesn't do the trick. Here's what I do when that happens.
