Michigan Rocks Michigan Rocks is about hunting rocks and then either polishing them or making something from them. I also work with other rocks from around the world.

Sam and I had a really fun time at Paradise Beach on Lake Superior in Minnesota. We found lots of agates and some new rocks to us.

This is part of a series of videos documenting our rock hunting adventure all the way around Lake Superior. If you missed the previous videos, you should really go watch them. We have seen the source of fluorescent Yooperlites, Native American pictographs, fluorite, amethyst mines, waterfalls, and more. I was at Thompson's Harbor yesterday. Of course I was looking for rocks, but I decided to share some pictures of the many flowers I saw along the way. I really like the geranium that I don't remember seeing before. According to my research it's called Geranium robertianum, so I love the name too. I used a plant identifier app to identify these, so forgive me if I got any of them wrong.

There are three amethyst mines open to the public near Thunder Bay Ontario. Sam and I visited all three. This video should give you an idea of what to expect from each of them. All three were really fun. For more information, there are links below.

I found a rock loaded with fossils. It looked incredible after polishing it.

On day two of our Lake Superior rock hunting adventure, Sam and Rob hunt rocks at Pebble Beach, find roadside fluorite, visit a waterfall, and marvel at a 330 foot deep Ouimet Canyon.

If you missed the first day of our trip, you can still catch up. The highlights were visiting a beautiful rocky trail that ended at Native American petroglyphs on a stone wall above Lake Superior and an after dark visit to bedrock with huge areas of fluorescent Yooperlite. https://facebook.com/MichiganRocksRob/videos/3294953790642769/

This is the first in a series documenting a trip Sam and I took around Lake Superior, hunting rocks in Canada and Minnesota. We visited the source of Yooperlites, Native American Pictographs, waterfalls, and beaches. You're going to love this.

You might have noticed that I haven't been very good at responding to comments here lately. Last night, Sam and I got home from a nine day camping trip in Canada and Minnesota. We drove all the way around Lake Superior, but didn't stop at any Michigan beaches since we have been to most of those already. Because of this, I'm way behind on responding to comments. I just got the very long grass mowed, so now I'm starting on those.

I have hours and hours of editing ahead of me. The first video will be coming out this Friday with other videos coming out each week. We had an excellent trip and saw lots of great rocks. I think you're going to like these videos.
