DEATH PYRE is the Chicago/St. Louis avant goth duo AMPYRE combined with the Chicago post-industrial/noise project DEATH FACTORY. The band has a trilogy of 2025 albums released by labels No Sides Records, Eh? Tapes and Bent Window Records. HEAVY PAUSES is the sonic amalgamation of members from St. Louis noise/rock/noise rock bands THE CONFORMISTS, BRAIN TRANSPLANT and SKAREKRAURADIO. They have an LP release available with an "augmented reality graphic" record jacket.

Speculum Abort The Parasite Cassette Tape Edition
Originally Released on birdeater in 2021 as a lathe cut 7" that came with a rubber fetus and limited sticker in an edition of only 20 and a USB stick edition in medical waste bag with plastic speculum and rubber fetus in an edition of 20 and then rereleased digitally by Basement Corner Emissions in 2023 this will be the cassette format edition for 2025. Easily The most popular Speculum release to date it deserves to be put on multiple formats for all to hear. Title based on comments women were saying if they had become pregnant with a conservative magas baby they would ABORT THE PARASITE!

A video of Speculum set yesterday at the beat in Downtown San Diego California. Old Man Speculum ain’t what he used to be but at least I’m still out there doing my thing and living life to its best. Video compliments of the wonderfully eclectic talents of Ian Bain. Really it’s rare for full videos of speculum Live sets and really wish I had focused on that in the early days as there would be some truly outrageous footage for all to enjoy from when I was more agile and well crazy,case in point the night we opened for HIRAX in 2007. Really wish I had video of that. Ski mask nudity chaos threats of cops being called on me it had it all. These days I’m more reserved and focused on creating the chaos in sound. Tried the wild old school Performamces I used to do this past may with my Speculum Mega Band and it almost killed my crazy old ass,there’s good video from that performance at Che cafe in may as well. It was fun though before it wasn’t. Deep consideration on closing this current chapter of Speculum in 2026 and concentrating more on BirdEater Entertainment and its annual Noise Summit Festival I curate at Che cafe.
