Ridgewalking season is here — that magical time when we wander the woods looking for holes in the ground that may or may not exist.
Unfortunately, it’s also hunting season — which means we’re basically bright-colored deer with helmets.

We do our best to be respectful: buy permits where applicable, avoid trucks, and not get mistaken for anything worth mounting.
Last year I actually ran into a hunter.
We were deep in the woods and he was probably more surprised to see me than a 12-point buck.
I apologized and he was nice, but clearly not happy. I told him I’d pray for him to kill a deer. Hope he bagged one!😬
