So Saturday I finally got the opportunity to go up and get some aerial shots of VIR after nearly a year! These are some highlights of the trip, look forward to a video in the near future! Bill and company were very friendly, you couldn't ask for a nicer group. The ride itself was very smooth thanks to pilot Peter. Rides courtesy of Bill's Helicopter Service LLC.

Patrick Dempsey and Andrew Davis took 3rd place in the Oak Tree Grand Prix in the GT Daytona class this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Featured is his trophy, his car, and Patrick Dempsey standing with Patrick Corbett before the race.

Tim Bell Racing #28 nissan. Although they encountered some mechanical problems they still performed really well this weekend.

These trophies for the Oak Tree Grand Prix were custom crafted by the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center specifically for this event. The top of the trophy features a solid block of 6061 aluminum precision machined into a topographical map of VIR. The wood used for the base and sides is oak, honoring the tree which formerly stood at turn 12. The text and logo's on the base were laser cut and the bases were then finished with a clear polyurethane. Check back for a video detailing the processes that went into making this trophy!

Those are the 2 winning cars from this weekends race, the red Ferrari overtook the green Porsche at the end of the final lap.

GT Le Mans and GT Daytona 1st place winners on the podium! In the red suits are drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Pierre Kaffer who raced Risi Competizione's Ferrari F458 Italia to victory in GTLM class. In yellow and blue are drivers Dane Cameron and Markus Palttala who brought Turner Motorsport the win in GTD class in their BMW Z4

Musante Motorsport Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo driven by Corey Lewis and Aaron Povoledo dominated over the weekend winning 1st in both rounds of competition for the Blancpain Super Trofeo North America at VIR. Congratulations to the Musante Motorsport team!
