The rocking chair Abraham Lincoln was sitting in the night he was assassinated is still preserved today.

On April 14, 1865, President Lincoln attended a play at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. Because of his height, theater staff placed this specially prepared rocking chair inside the Presidential Box for his comfort.

Moments later, American history changed forever.

Today, the chair remains on permanent display at The Henry Ford Museum in Michigan inside a climate-controlled glass case.

For years, many believed the dark stains on the fabric were Lincoln’s blood. But historians later discovered the markings were actually caused by hair oil commonly used during the 1800s.

More than 160 years later, the chair stands as a chilling reminder of one of the most tragic nights in American history.

Two years after the Asbury revival captured national attention, students at Asbury University are still gathering late into the night to worship, pray, and seek God together.

The student-led movement known as “WHAM” — short for Worship Him At Midnight — continues to fill Hughes Auditorium with spontaneous praise, testimonies, prayer, and worship.

Organizers say it’s not about performance or production, but creating space for students hungry for a real encounter with God.

Videos shared this week from the gatherings are once again spreading across social media, reminding many of the powerful revival that drew thousands to the Kentucky campus in 2023.

Students describe the atmosphere as authentic, peaceful, and deeply centered on Jesus.

At a time when so much of culture feels chaotic and divided, moments like these are resonating with people across the country.

Some say revival never really left Asbury — it simply became part of campus life.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV is calling for stronger global oversight of artificial intelligence, warning that rapidly advancing technology must be guided by ethics, human dignity, and the common good — not simply profit or power.

In a major new Vatican document titled Magnifica Humanitas (“Magnificent Humanity”), the pope described artificial intelligence as one of the defining challenges of this generation, saying its impact now stretches from the workplace to warfare.

“Artificial Intelligence now demands to be disarmed from systems that turn it into an instrument of domination, exclusion, and death,” the pope said during a Vatican presentation Monday.

The sweeping manifesto urges governments, technology companies, and world leaders to establish stronger legal safeguards and independent oversight as AI systems become more powerful and influential in everyday life. Pope Leo also warned about the growing use of AI in military operations and criticized what he called a “culture of power” driving the global race for technological dominance.

The Vatican’s statement comes as artificial intelligence continues reshaping industries worldwide, sparking growing concerns about job displacement, misinformation, privacy, and autonomous weapons systems.

The pope emphasized that technology should ultimately serve humanity rather than replace it, calling on developers and political leaders to prioritize human dignity above financial gain.

Experts in both the tech and religious communities say the document could become one of the most influential faith-based statements yet on the future of artificial intelligence and ethics.

Debate is intensifying across America after several states passed new laws increasing penalties for disrupting worship services.

Supporters say churches, synagogues, and places of worship should remain protected spaces where families can gather in peace without fear of harassment, intimidation, or escalating protests. Critics argue the laws could raise concerns about free speech and government overreach.

The movement gained momentum after a high-profile protest interrupted a church service in Minnesota earlier this year, sparking outrage among many faith leaders nationwide.

Now lawmakers in multiple states are responding — with some proposing jail time and steep fines for those who intentionally interfere with religious gatherings.

As tensions rise across the country over politics, faith, protest rights, and public safety, one question is becoming impossible to ignore:

Where should the line be drawn between protecting worship and protecting protest?

The national conversation is only getting louder.

Suspect Dead After White House Security Shooting, Secret Service Says

Officials say suspect opened fire near White House checkpoint before officers returned fire.

WASHINGTON — A suspect is dead after opening fire near a White House security checkpoint Saturday evening, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

Federal officials say the individual approached a checkpoint near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. ET, removed a weapon from a bag, and began firing at officers.

Secret Service personnel returned fire, striking the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Authorities say a bystander was also struck during the incident, though investigators have not yet determined whether the injuries came from the suspect’s gunfire or the return fire from officers.

The Secret Service confirmed that no officers were injured and said President Donald Trump, who was inside the White House at the time, was not harmed.

Journalists near the White House reported hearing multiple gunshots before being directed to shelter inside the press briefing room.

Crime scene tape, evidence markers, and emergency medical equipment were visible across the area Saturday night as investigators secured the scene.

The FBI and Secret Service are continuing to investigate the incident.

A Florida church is celebrating what organizers are calling a historic move of God after 2,552 people were baptized in the Atlantic Ocean during a massive beach revival event.

According to organizers, thousands gathered along the Florida coastline as people publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism.

The event is the latest in a growing number of large-scale revival gatherings being reported across the country, with churches and evangelists describing increased spiritual hunger and renewed interest in faith nationwide.

Photos and videos from the event show crowds lining the shoreline as worship, prayer, and baptisms continued throughout the day.

Church leaders say the outreach was focused on helping people take a public step of faith and experience community, hope, and spiritual renewal.

The gathering has already sparked widespread attention online, with many calling it another sign of growing spiritual awakening across America.
