I can’t believe my grandson is already almost 3—time is flying! Lately we’ve been working on learning our colors, and I wanted something simple, fun, and hands-on to help him practice. So, I created a crayon color flashcard set that’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

Each card features a colorful crayon, and there’s a set with the color names written underneath and one without, so we can work on recognition and even a little early reading. He’s been loving them, and it’s been such a sweet way to sneak in a little learning during playtime.

If you’re looking for a simple way to keep those early reading skills fresh over the summer, my AM Short A CVC cut and paste activity is just the thing. It’s hands-on, easy to follow, and helps young learners strengthen their letter-sound connections while having a little creative fun.

Kids get to cut out the letters and match them to the correct CVC words with the short A sound—like jam, cat, and map. It’s a great balance of literacy practice and fine motor work, perfect for a little quiet time at home or even summer tutoring sessions.

I was thinking back to when I first started making printables, and one of the very first ones I created was my ASL alphabet flashcards—each card has the hand sign and the matching letter. It’s still one of my favorites because it was simple, meaningful, and something I wish I had when I was younger.
