This will be the Main Event at the Skandar Akbar Memorial Cup being held Saturday, March 29, at D.O. Fulton Gym. Vernon is home to the late legendary wrestler Skandar Akbar and this wrestling event is to honor him. The event, a six-man tag team tournament, is being presented by King of Sports Championship Wrestling. 🐰🥚 Easter Egg Hunt Alert! 🥚🐰

Vernon Main Street is hosting a Community-Wide Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at 10 AM! 🎉 We’re going all out to make this event EGGstra special for the kids in our community, with fun activities like a visit from the Easter Bunny, photo opportunities, popcorn, and sweet treats! It’s going to be a hopping good time!

But we need your help to make this event even bigger and better! We’re on the lookout for egg donations because a community-wide hunt means we need THOUSANDS of eggs!

Donation drop-off has already begun at City Hall, and we’d love to see that collection grow! Together, we can make this event truly GREAT!

What You’ll Do:
✔ Maintain the golf course by mowing greens, fairways, and tee areas.
✔ Set tee markers, cups, and maintain bunkers, landscaping, and flower beds.
✔ Operate tractors, mowers, dump trucks, and other equipment.
✔ Assist with irrigation system maintenance, fertilization, and course improvements.
✔ Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to prepare for special events.

What You’ll Need:
✔ Valid driver’s license.
✔ Experience with grounds maintenance, landscaping, or golf course work preferred.
✔ Ability to lift, carry, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
✔ Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping.
✔ Strong work ethic and ability to follow oral and written directions.

What You'll Do:
✔ Operate and maintain water treatment equipment including pumps, filters, and chemical systems.
✔ Monitor water quality to ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local regulations.

At Booker's Place, we provide a safe and supportive environment for children to share their stories with trained forensic interviewers. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely on fundraising efforts throughout the year to maintain our operations.
