Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day to all those who serve.

This day holds a special remembrance in my heart because it marks four years since my father passed away. He was a proud police officer for 37 years. He taught me what it meant to put a hard day's work in and to be proud of your service to your community, no matter how you choose to serve.

As a firefighter, I have seen first-hand the incredible challenges our Law Enforcement Officers face everyday. I recognize that the job is not easy. We must continue to work hard to support our law enforcement professionals who go to work everyday and carry the weight of the badge with dignity.

Thank you to all of our law enforcement professionals.

I appreciate all the sweat equity that Farmer Froberg and Alfred Froberg put in for the Alvin and Brazoria County area. Wholesome family content is sometimes hard to find in society today.

Thank you for bringing our community into Froberg Fruit and Vegetable Farm, Alvin, Texas everyday.

Happy New Year!!

Alvin is full of history thank you Texas Chronicles: for featuring Stanton's Shopping Center.

Oldest Businesses in Texas
Stanton’s Shopping Center
On N. Taylor Street in Alvin, Texas, you’ll find a charming general store with roots dating back to the 1920s: Stanton’s Shopping Center. Staying true to its heritage, Stanton’s hasn’t embraced flashy self-checkout lanes or eye-catching BOGO sales. Instead, it focuses on friendly service and the nostalgic touch of handwritten price tags.
Inside, the store offers an array of groceries, from spices and pastas to canned goods and everything you need for a home-cooked meal—or an authentic Texas barbecue. The owners, Allen, Neal, and Paul Stanton, are dedicated to preserving their family’s legacy by crafting and smoking homemade meats daily. For generations, the Stantons have been a dependable presence in the community, even providing support during hurricane emergencies.
Stanton’s embodies a true hometown spirit. Whether you’re there to grab some feed, stock up on groceries, or simply sip a coffee at the bar, you’ll always find a warm welcome.

Witnessing hundreds of Alvin ISD students being blessed with Christmas shopping sprees was amazing. Community members from across Iowa Colony, Manvel, and Alvin came together on the 30th anniversary of the Alvin Blue Santa Program.

Over 200 students were matched with a volunteers where they were escorted throughout the retailer buying items for their home and families. Once they completed their shopping spree, they were able to select a few toys for their siblings.

None of this would be possible without the generous donations by so many who fundraised and collected toys for the event. Special thank you to the Alvin ISD Education Foundation.

Continuing this 30-year tradition is such an impressive accomplishment. I cannot say enough about the true blessing that Denise Stanaland is for our community. Thank you all Merry Christmas.

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers and generous donors who made this historical night possible.
