Okay everyone, just hear me out…

Personally, I think if the presidents on Mount Rushmore were around today, there’s no doubt they’d want to come hang out in the City of Alvin.

🇺🇸 Abraham Lincoln would have loved our live music scene and all the festivals and community events happening around town.

🇺🇸 Thomas Jefferson would have been a huge fan of the breakfast tacos at Juanitas and no doubt would have spent some time as a scholar at Alvin College.

🇺🇸 Theodore Roosevelt seems like the kind of guy who would have appreciated some Joe's Barbeque followed by a stop at Gordon Street Tavern.

🇺🇸 And George Washington? I think he would have gladly traded that cherry tree for a basket of strawberries from Froberg Farm,. 🍓

All jokes aside, we have a lot to be proud of in Alvin. Great local businesses, great food, great schools, great events, and most importantly, great people who make it easy to call Alvin home.

My deepest condolences to Brazoria County Sheriff Bo Stallman and his family following the passing of his son, Austin Stallman.

There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child. I ask our community to surround the Stallman family with compassion, support, and prayer during this incredibly difficult time.

Sheriff Stallman and family, please know our community is standing with you.

Rest peacefully, Austin.

🚧 CITY STREETS UPDATE

Much-needed striping is getting done along South Street from Rowan-Burton Drive to Highway 35!

Crews are refreshing both the double-yellow center lines and the white lane markings to improve visibility and safety for drivers.
Please use caution and slow down when traveling through these work areas. Most importantly, give the hardworking crews plenty of room to safely do their jobs as they help keep our city rolling along! 🚧

Happy Birthday to my friend Alfred Froberg!

Over the last two years, I’ve spent countless hours alongside Alfred, knocking doors in the Texas heat, visiting with residents at community events, and spending plenty of time around the polls.

What I appreciate most about Alfred is how consistently he shows up. He gives his time to students and teachers, responds when residents reach out, and makes himself available to the community he serves.

Alfred, I’d say we should grab lunch for your birthday, but knowing you, you’re probably already out knocking doors or visiting with people in the community.

Happy Birthday, my friend. I hope you have a great day!
