Tonight, I was officially sworn in as a City of Alvin Council member — with my beautiful wife, my children, my brother, and a room full of friends, supporters, and mentors standing beside me. The campaign is over. The votes have been counted. And it's time to get to work.
I want to say thank you once again — from the bottom of my heart — to every single person who believed in this journey, walked alongside me, knocked doors, said prayers, or simply cheered me on from afar. Your support means everything.
I carried a few meaningful reminders with me tonight — symbols of where I’ve been and what matters most:
⌚ A broken watch that belonged to my father — it doesn’t tell time anymore, but it reminds me every day that time is precious. Don’t waste it.
🧦 A pair of fun socks — following Ed Thompson’s tradition, but with a grounding reminder of my roots in the fire service and the importance of staying humble through it all.
🦆 A rubber ducky on my desk — courtesy of my five-year-old, who told me it would bring me luck.
🚘 A lapel pin made to look like a Texas license plate — a gift from my wife, reminding me that serving our community isn’t about reaching a destination — it’s a journey, one mile at a time. And today is just the beginning.
I’m honored, I’m grateful, and I’m ready to lead with heart, purpose, and dedication. Let’s get to work, Alvin.
