One of my greatest and forever creative inspirations — the woman who became my very first fan of my photography and will always live on in my art: my mom. 💫 Today I honor her birthday.

She was a true rock star — so many styles, endless creativity, and a laugh and smile that could light up any room. She always had the coolest projects going on, and I loved watching her scrapbook, flipping through old photos and memories together. When I first picked up a camera, she backed me completely, cheering me on through every wild idea and vision.

Fourteen years ago, I took these photos of her — a memory etched in my heart. I still see her laying out outfits in her room, smiling and saying, “Hey Kelsey, wanna go adventure and take some cool shots of me?” She loved playing dress-up just like I do, even requesting Stevie Nicks–inspired vibes. We spent the day roaming around Dalhart, TX, hitting abandoned spots, blasting music, and creating together.

Oh, how I miss her. But she is with me always — in my heart, in my art, and in every spark of creativity I carry.
