Matt Lemburg runs MajorSeven Recording studio and has played in numerous bands throughout the years. Most of those bands have included his brother Benjamin. Benj lives in Las Vegas, so they do a lot of back and forth with their music these days. The Musician's Showcase was an awesome opportunity for them to play together live. Their drummer, Nathan (who lives here and is also in The Shopkeepers), has been with the band over 10 years. The Western Ether loves to have other musician friends (like Keith on bass, Toderick on keys and Kat with vocals) join them. It's always a family affair with The Western Ether!! You can find their music on all listening platforms. If you want an old CD, ask Matt-he might still have a few hanging around ;)

This guy has had his toes in the music biz for a long time, and it just so happened that a chance recording sesh with his parents ended up being the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Matt and Toderick. These guys have been working together for years now! While Amarillo is a far cry from the L.A. music scene Toderick was used to, we're glad that he's here, making music and adding to our Amarillo community of musicians. There's definitely more to hear from this guy, so keep your ears perked!

You've most likely seen this guy around. Jon Von Theumer has been a staple in the Amarillo music scene for years. Maybe you know him from being the sound guy at the Golden Light. Maybe you saw him play gigs at local restaurants. Several people said, "I had no idea Jon sang like that" after his band, The Shopkeepers, performed at our Musician's Showcase. Yes, yes we do have TALENTED people hanging out in the shadows of Amarillo. You just have to offer the right amount of light to see them. Jud and Nathan offered bass and drums to round it out. They are taking their time recording at the studio, but we look forward to sharing more of their songs with you in the future!

Someone said after the Musician's Showcase, "Uh, my head whipped around SO FAST when that guy started singing...What a voice!!!" Yeah, that's Rhett Uhland in a nutshell. Nothing but pure vocals and a drive to bring you the best music. We're so proud of all he's accomplishing in his career and are honored to have been a little part of it. You can find him on all the listening platforms and if you see he's playing out in Amarillo, go catch the show!

Surprisingly, many attendees of our Musician's Showcase hadn't had the pleasure of hearing Black Tie Revolt. Y'all kinda' had your ears blown off, right?! (And we mean that in the BEST way possible!) These guys totally rocked and the crowd loved it! Thanks to the band for bringing the "dirty blues" vibe to the show! Find Black Tie Revolt on social media and hopefully a venue near you! (Thank you Tanner for the photos)

Ben Cargo has been playing music for a very long time and knows a lot of folks in Amarillo. He's been in numerous bands throughout the years but currently is concentrating on a solo project. He was the one playing the groove-y, atmospheric guitar tunes at our Musician's Showcase last week. It's been a pleasure to work with Ben and is always a good day when he pops into the studio! Follow Ben on social media if you haven't already and find his songs on listening platforms everywhere...

The next musician who played at our musician's showcase was Tia Marie. Tia has played at a lot of different venues and events over the years (Hoodoo, anyone?), but is still probably someone who flies under the radar in Amarillo. She plays here and there when she can, but we sure are happy she said yes to playing our showcase! We're thrilled to create a space where she can record her songs here at MajorSeven. Check out her YouTube channel:

Welcome to my channel you guys! My name is Tia Marie. I'm a singer/songwriter who is passionate about sharing my experiences through my music. I hope that by subscribing to my channel you and I can create a music community that is centered on hope, positivity, and inspiration for following our dream...

First up- Kathryn Roach! Kat started the night off with her amazing voice! She is the worship leader at our church and I co-lead the musicians with her. Kathryn writes originals but we also co-write music together. She has the opportunity to create, record and mix her music at our studio, since this is the space she works in every day. You can find some of her music on her personal YouTube channel, where her newest song, "Love is Alive" can be heard:

What a night! THANK YOU doesn't even begin to express the gratitude we have for all the friends and musicians who showed up last Friday night at STOEX for the musician's showcase. Y'all know how to rock! We are pretty dang lucky to live in a place where our music can be shared and people SHOW UP to hear it. Here's an overview of the night in photos... (thanks to Tanner Beggs who took 99% of them).

Have y'all been to a show at STOEX Design Gallery? That's where our Musician's Showcase is happening on October 17th. The sound is really good in this space, not to mention the artful ambiance is one-of-a-kind. It's the perfect spot for everyone to chill, listen to music, kick back some drinks from the Tap Truck and meet new people. We can't wait to let all these awesome local tunes dance their way down S. Georgia street! Details on our event page.

This upcoming event is a celebration of artful collaboration in Amarillo! It's a night of free music by folks we've worked with here at MajorSeven. It takes a lot of time and effort to produce music and we want to celebrate the accomplishments of some of our bands. This event isn't at our studio, but at the super cool STOEX Design Gallery. We'll save you a couch seat or a place in line at the Tap Truck in the parking lot ;)
