Dear NWCOA Members,

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will be reviewing proposed changes to trapping regulations at their commission meeting next week. These changes could have a direct impact on wildlife control professionals and the work we do across the state.

We strongly encourage all members to:
• Review the proposed trapping rule changes prior to the meeting.
• Share your feedback with NWCOA and/or FWC staff.
• Attend the commission meeting in person if possible, to ensure the voice of our industry is heard. (NWCOA leaders will be present)

Your participation is critical in shaping fair and effective regulations that support responsible wildlife management.

👉 Read the proposed changes under trapping topic in the agenda for Nov 6th.

Wildlife removal is so much more than just setting a trap and removing an animal.

Inspection determines the species of concern as well as entry point(s) and areas allowing future entry.

Removal is the process of ridding home of the specific wildlife invader(s) not random animals. This is achieved with trap placement and specific baiting techniques, positive sets or oneway doors.

Monitoring is the process of determining all wildlife invaders have been removed from the structure before moving on to repair. This is achieved through movement indicators, camera monitoring or other techniques.

Repair is the gold standard if done correctly. When done correctly it is aesthetically pleasing while stopping future wildlife entry and allows for reoccurring revenue through extended warranty.
