In case you missed it, last night the Ames CSD Board of Education approved Aaron Weddle as the next principal of Mitchell Elementary, beginning July 1, 2026.

Weddle currently serves as associate principal at Ames Middle School and brings a strong background in education, including experience as a principal, school counselor, and teacher. ♻️ Construction bids for Ames’ new Resource Recovery and Recycling Campus came in $2.8 million higher than expected.

The city council delayed awarding contracts while officials review costs and consider possible changes to the project.

🎙️ Iowa Public Radio plans to move its newsroom and studios to downtown Ames by 2028.

The new location in the heart of downtown will be much easier to locate and more accessible for residents, IPR Executive Director Myrna Johnson told the Ames Voice.
